Okay, so, I saw this thing online about Kemba Walker scoring 96 points, and I was like, “No way, that’s insane!” I had to see if it was even possible, so I decided to try and replicate this myself.

Getting Started
First, I fired up my 2K game. I figured the best way to do this was to just go into a regular Play Now game, and, obviously, pick a team where Kemba is an avaliable player. I had a moment of I thought, “Wait, is he even still in the league?”.
The Grind
- I set the quarter length to 12 minutes. I wanted the maximum amount of time to try and reach that crazy number.
- I basically forced every single play to Kemba. I mean, every. Single. One. I didn’t even care about my teammates, that much.
- My strategy? Drive to the basket, shoot threes, and hope for the best. I tried to draw fouls, too, to get those free throws. Anything to boost that score.
- Honestly, it got pretty tedious. My thumbs were starting to hurt, and I definitely wasn’t playing great defense on the other end, because who has time for that when you’re chasing history?
The Reality Check
It was tough, even though I was doing the best I * to 96 was way harder than I thought. I might get Kemba to score 50 or 60 points, but that’s about it. And, you know, I can get other players to score that many points, too. Hitting 96 points? A whole other ball game. My fingers was sore at the end of the game!
The (Unsuccessful) Result
Okay, confession time: I didn’t get to 96 points. I got to a decent number, but the defense started to pick up on it. And, frankly, I started to get a little tired of just feeding the ball to one guy the whole time. I tried my best, I really did, but I fell short.
It made me respect the real players even more. Getting anywhere near that score in a real NBA game, with real defenders and real pressure, it’s just incredible. Major props to anyone who can do that!
