Alright, so I was digging around the internet the other day, trying to find out some stuff about this former basketball coach, Tony Bennett. You know, the guy who used to coach at the University of Virginia? I’ve always been kind of curious about the dude, and figured I’d try to find out some stuff about his family and his personal life.
So, first I tried searching for “Tony Bennett UVA wife,” figuring that would get me some info on the guy’s better half. Turns out her name is Laurel, and they’ve been hitched for almost thirty years, which, in this day and age, is like a century or something. Pretty impressive, right? The internet says she used to be Laurel Purcell, and she’s in her mid-forties, apparently born at home, in Baton Rouge.
Then, I did some more digging to see what else I could find about these two. It looks like during a fall break at UVA, they took a trip. Which makes sense, I mean who doesn’t like to get away for a bit. I’m sure they have plenty of chances, given that the dude was pulling in over three million bucks a year at UVA. Sheesh, that’s a lot of dough! No wonder he was one of the highest-paid coaches around. I wish I made that much!
Anyway, from what I gather, the main reason Tony stepped down was to spend more time with his family. Makes sense, you know? He’s got two grown kids, Anna and Eli, and his parents are getting up there in age, in their 80s I think. It seems like he just wants to chill with them, and enjoy life a little more. I respect that. It does seem like he plans to stick around UVA, at least that’s what the internet tells me.
So yeah, that’s what I found out about Tony and Laurel Bennett. Just another day in the life of a random internet sleuth, haha! It’s kind of fun to piece together these little bits of information and see what you can learn. I mean, I wouldn’t want to be some stalker or anything like that, but finding out about some famous folks is kind of neat sometimes.
