So, guys, I wanna talk about today’s NYT Mini Crossword. Specifically, that one clue that stumped a lot of us: “In need of some cheering up.” I stared at that thing for a solid five minutes, I swear.
I started by looking up the clue online, hoping someone had already cracked it. I found a few pages that were like, “Here’s the answer to the ‘In need of some cheering up’ clue from the NYT Mini Crossword on June 11.” Perfect, right? Except, most of them were just listing the clue without the actual answer. Talk about frustrating!
Then, I stumbled upon a couple of sites that actually gave the answer. Turns out, it was a three-letter word.
- First letter: S
- Second letter: A
- Third letter: D
I mean, it makes total sense, right? When someone’s in need of cheering up, they’re probably feeling SAD. I felt a little dumb for not getting it myself, but hey, that’s how these crosswords go sometimes. They can be super easy one minute and then throw you a curveball the next.
Anyway, I finally finished the whole puzzle after that. It’s a 5×5 grid, so it’s usually pretty quick, but that one clue really held me up. Did any of you guys run into the same problem with this clue? Let me know in the comments! I’m curious to see how many of us got tripped up by it.
