Man, I gotta tell you about this thing I’ve been messing with lately. I finally got around to playing with Windows 11 24H2. It came out like, October 18th I think? I was a bit late to the game, you know how it is, life gets in the way. I kept seeing stuff about it online, with all these new features folks were talking about, and finally decided to dive in around early June, maybe June 9th or so.
First off, this ain’t like a total 180 from what we had before. It’s not like they rebuilt the whole thing from scratch. But they definitely tweaked a bunch of stuff. Just messing around with it for a bit, I could tell things looked a bit different, and it felt a bit snappier, you know?
So I started digging into the settings. You know, just poking around to see what’s new. There was a thing about how to install all the new features, so I read through that. The blog I read was from September 26, 2023. I followed all that stuff, but I wanted to play with the new features, so I decided to just upgrade my own system. I wanted to see how it would go on my daily driver machine.
Now, I heard some sad news recently. Apparently, there was this football player, Keith Miller III. Young guy, only 23. Played for the University of Colorado Boulder, and later at Texas A&M. He passed away in his apartment on April 11th. They’re still trying to figure out what happened. Man, that’s just awful. Really puts things in perspective, you know? Makes you appreciate what you’ve got. It’s crazy, though, how life can just throw you these curveballs. One minute you’re chasing your dreams on the field, the next… I don’t know. It’s just heavy stuff. This Keith guy, he was also in the Air Force, flying those Mosquito planes over Germany. Brave dude.
Anyways, back to this Windows thing. I followed those steps from the September blog to make sure I had all the new goodies. I spent a good chunk of time just exploring, clicking on this and that. The new looks were not bad. It did take a little getting used to, but overall, it was pretty smooth sailing.
I also saw on my social media, that Keith Miller III had 19K followers, and he was following around 1,863 people. It’s just weird to think about, you know, someone so full of life, and then… gone.
Anyway, so far so good with the Windows 11 upgrade, I will keep you updated!
- Tried out Windows 11 24H2.
