Okay, so I’ve been messing around with these Wake Forest basketball predictions, and let me tell you, it’s been a ride. Started off pretty simple, you know? Just wanted to see if I could figure out how they’d do this season.
First thing I did was look up their past performance. Found some stuff about them being in the NCAA Tournament 23 times, and even making it in three of the last four years. That’s pretty good, right? It got me thinking, maybe this year they have a real shot.
- Checked out some expert opinions too.
- There’s this guy, Lukas Harkins, who’s apparently a wizard at predicting brackets.
- He’s been doing it for seven years and seems to know his stuff.
Then I dove into their schedule. Man, it looks tough! They’ve got like 14 games against teams that are doing pretty well, all above .500. That’s gonna be a real test for them. I also saw that UConn is a favorite to win the whole tournament. More than 25% think they will repeat as champions. This just makes things more complicated, figuring out how Wake Forest stacks up against that kind of competition.
Found some articles breaking down Wake Forest’s chances of making the tournament. It’s all about their “tournament resume,” whatever that means. Seems important, though. They’re off to a 1-0 start, which is decent, but the real goal is to make the NCAA Tournament. They haven’t done that yet under Coach Steve Forbes. Speaking of Coach Forbes, I watched a clip of him at a practice from last September. They made the NIT last season, so that’s something, I guess.
Digging Deeper
I really started digging then. Gathered all sorts of stats, player info, you name it. Tried to piece it all together, see if there was a pattern or something that could tell me how they’d do. It’s like putting together a giant puzzle. They are picked third in the preseason, that’s a good signal for me.
Honestly, it’s been a lot of work. Lots of late nights, staring at numbers, and trying to make sense of it all. But it’s been fun, too. Feels like I’m learning a lot about basketball, even though I’m no expert. I just hope my work will pay off in the end!
So, yeah, that’s where I’m at with these Wake Forest predictions. It’s a work in progress, but I’m feeling pretty good about it. We’ll see if I’m right in the end. Either way, it’s been a fun little project.
