So, I’m a huge fan of college football, and the Texas Longhorns are my team. I always want to catch their games, but sometimes I’m on the road or just not near a TV. That’s when I started looking into how to catch the games on the radio. It was a bit of a journey, so I thought I’d share what I learned.
First, I tried looking up “Texas football radio” online. I found a bunch of different stations and websites, but it was a bit overwhelming. One of the first things I found was AM 1300 The Zone. They seemed to be the main station in Austin for sports and Longhorns games, so I tried tuning in there first. I got lucky, cause it works, but it is AM, so the quality was kinda rough.
Finding The Best Option
Then, I realized that there might be other stations, maybe even FM, that carried the games, especially when I’m traveling. I discovered that there are affiliate lists which show different radio stations in various cities that broadcast the games. That was a game-changer! I could finally find a local station when I was out of town. They even mentioned that some games are on SiriusXM, which is great for road trips since it’s nationwide.
Streaming Is Also An Option
- After that, I started playing around with streaming options. I went to the */audio. Guess what? The quality was way better than the AM radio! It was so much clearer.
- I also found out that the streaming is available on mobile and smart devices. That was awesome because I could listen on my phone wherever I was, as long as I had a decent internet connection.
So, after a bit of digging and experimenting, I’ve got a few solid ways to catch the Longhorns games on the radio or online. Whether I’m at home, on the road, or just out and about, I can always tune in and follow my team. And, honestly, listening to the games on the radio has its own charm. It reminds me of how folks used to follow sports in the old days. It’s a different vibe, but I kinda like it!
