So, I stumbled upon this thing called “FF14 Heardle” today, and let me tell you, it’s quite the earworm. If you’re a Final Fantasy XIV fan, you’re probably already nodding your head. But for those who haven’t, it’s basically a daily music guessing game, kinda like Wordle, but with tunes from the game.
I started my day like any other, scrolling through my usual online haunts when I saw a post about it. I’m a huge FFXIV nerd, so naturally, I was intrigued. I decided to give it a shot, and that’s where the fun began.
First Attempt
You get these short snippets of a song, just a second or two at first. Then you have to guess which track it is from the game. Sounds easy, right? Wrong! Some of these songs, man, they’re deep cuts. I listened to the first clip, and my mind was completely blank. I skipped it, hoping the next few seconds would jog my memory.
- Listen to the first snippet.
- Try to guess the song.
- Skip if you’re unsure.
- Listen to more of the song with each skip.
- Make your final guess.
Nope. Still nothing. I kept skipping, and the song started to sound a bit familiar, but I just couldn’t place it. Finally, I ran out of skips and had to make a guess. I threw out a random song title, knowing it was probably wrong. And it was. It turned out to be some obscure track from a side quest I probably did years ago. The game gave me the answer, and I slapped my forehead. Of course! How could I forget that one?
I played a few more rounds, getting some right and some spectacularly wrong. It’s a fun little challenge, and it really tests your knowledge of the game’s massive soundtrack. I ended up spending way more time on it than I intended, but hey, it was a good time. Now, I’m eagerly waiting for tomorrow’s tune. Gotta keep my guessing streak alive, you know? It’s become a nice little daily ritual. And maybe I’ll even go back and replay some of those old quests, just to refresh my memory. Who knows, I might discover some new favorite tracks along the way.
This game made my day, honestly. It’s simple, but it’s so engaging. Give it a whirl if you are also a fan of FF14!
