Alright, so, about this Apex Convention 2023, let me tell you how it all went down for me. It all started when I got this email. You know, the usual newsletter stuff, but this one caught my eye – “Apex Convention 2023”. I thought, “Why not?”. I had some free time, and it sounded like a good opportunity to check out what’s up.
First thing I did, I went ahead and registered. The process was pretty straightforward, nothing too complicated. Just filled in some forms, paid the fee, and boom, I was in. Then came the waiting game. I marked the date on my calendar and started counting down the days.
Finally, the day arrived. I woke up early, got dressed, and headed out. I decided to drive there, so I punched the address into my GPS and hit the road. The drive was smooth, no traffic, which was a nice surprise.
Arriving at the event
- I parked my car and walked over to the entrance.
- There was a bit of a line, but it moved quickly.
- I showed my registration, got my badge, and stepped inside.
The place was buzzing. I wandered around, checking out the different booths. I saw some familiar faces and stopped to chat. We talked about our interests, what we hoped to get out of the convention, you know, the usual stuff. I grabbed a coffee from one of the stands and continued exploring. I attended a few talks, some were hit or miss, but that’s how it goes. One, in particular, caught my attention. It was about some new development, pretty interesting stuff.
Lunchtime rolled around, and I headed to the food court. I grabbed a burger and found a spot to sit. I ended up sharing a table with a few other folks, and we got to talking. They were pretty cool, and we exchanged contacts before going our separate ways.
After lunch, I attended a few more sessions and roamed the booths some more. I picked up some freebies, a t-shirt, some stickers, you know how it is. As the day wound down, I started to feel a bit tired. It had been a long day, but a good one.
The end of the day
- I made my way back to the entrance, said goodbye to the people I met.
- Then I headed back to my car.
- The drive home was quiet.
- I reflected on the day as I drove.
I got home, made some dinner, and relaxed for the rest of the evening. All in all, it was a pretty good experience. I met some interesting people, learned a few things, and got a free t-shirt out of it. Would I go again? Probably. It was worth the time and effort. And who knows what next year will bring?
