Oh boy, what a night it was! I stayed up all the way until, like, 3 AM, watching the match between Medvedev and Ruusuvuori. And let me tell you, it was a real nail-biter.
I got a feeling this would be a good game at the start. So, I made myself a big cup of coffee. It was quite late, but hey, a good match is a good match, right? I mean, these two guys have faced off twice before. Then I made up my mind, I am gonna watch this game! I found the live broadcast of the game and got all comfy on my couch.
So, the game started, and I was like, “Alright, let’s do this!” But, oh man, Ruusuvuori came out swinging. He took the first set, and I was a bit surprised. Then, he snagged the second set too. I was like, “Whoa, Medvedev is in trouble!” I started getting a bit worried, not gonna lie. The score was 3-6, 6-7, and I was on the edge of my seat.
But then, Medvedev, he turned it around. I guess he decided he wasn’t going down without a fight. He won the third set, and I was like, “Okay, there’s hope!” It was like watching a movie, so much suspense. My coffee was long gone by this point, but I was too glued to the screen to make more. He won it, 6-4.
The fourth set was another close one, a real tie-breaker. Both guys were playing their hearts out. It was 7-6, and honestly, I was getting a bit tired. I started searching some h2h stats about them, finding they will face off again on Thursday.
- It was 3:29 a.m. already!
- They will face off again soon.
- The game was at the Internazionali BNL d’Italia in Rome.
Finally, Medvedev managed to pull through and win the whole thing. It ended up being 3-6, 6-7, 6-4, 7-6. What a comeback! I was so relieved and also pretty exhausted. I remember I saw a post on the Internet, it wrote “Daniil Medvedev of Russia is congratulated by Emil Ruusuvuori, right.” Well, after such a tiring match, it is a reasonable behavior. I mean, it’s not every day you see a match like that. Anyway, it was an incredible match, and I’m glad I stayed up to watch it. But now, I definitely need some sleep!
