Okay, so today, I wanted to mess around with this thing called “linn grant.” First off, I needed to get some text input, you know, just to have something to work with. I typed in a simple sentence with a “+” sign in it, because I heard that could be a problem.
Then, I tried to URL-encode this text. The goal was to replace that “+” sign with “%2B,” which is what it should be in URL-speak. I messed around with some encoding functions, but it didn’t quite work out at first. The “+” was still just a “+.” Felt like I was missing something basic.
The Encoding
- URL encoding: Tried to change the “+” to “%2B.”
- HTML encoding: I figured I might need to do this after URL encoding since the result would end up in an email.
After some head-scratching, I remembered I needed to actually put this encoded stuff into a URL. It was for an email, so it wasn’t just about URL encoding, but also HTML encoding. Double whammy. I did the URL encoding first and then wrapped that in HTML encoding. It was a bit of a pain, but finally, that “+” sign turned into “%2B,” like it was supposed to.
Now, while I was doing all this, I also stumbled upon some music stuff. It wasn’t really related, but hey, who doesn’t like music? There’s this artist called 2BTO King. I checked out some of his tracks on Deezer. Seemed like a cool guy, with a bunch of followers and stuff.
The Music
- Deezer: Found 2BTO King’s discography.
- New Songs: Listened to “MANDE KALEKAN” and “Dconect.”
- Genius: Checked out some lyrics to understand the songs better.
I listened to a couple of his songs, like “MANDE KALEKAN” and “Dconect.” Not bad, not bad. I even went on Genius to check out the lyrics because, you know, sometimes you just gotta know what they’re saying. It was kind of interesting to dive into the meaning behind the music.
Oh, and I also messed around with some search engine stuff. I usually use Google, but I gave Bing a try. It’s got most of the same search features, so that was neat. You can use those special commands to find things more easily. This has some similar features to Google.
The Search Engine
- Google: Still the top dog, but I wanted to try something different.
- Bing: Used some search operators, similar to Google.
And lastly, I streamed some music on SoundCloud. There was this track, “2BTO – An – Ti – Don – Feat – Malian – *3.” It was just there, free to play, so why not? It was a pretty chill track to have in the background while I was working on the encoding stuff.
So yeah, that was my little adventure today. I dealt with some encoding headaches, discovered some new music, and even played around with a different search engine. All in all, not a bad day. I did all of these things, and it turned out to be pretty interesting. I got to learn a few new things and, most importantly, I got that “+” sign to finally become “%2B.” Mission accomplished, I guess.
