Okay, so I’ve been digging into this whole Brooks Koepka LIV Golf contract thing, and let me tell you, it’s a wild ride. I wanted to share my findings cause it’s quite something.
Started with some rumors
First off, I started hearing these whispers, you know, the kind that gets the golf world buzzing. There was this report by Alan Shipnuck back in February. He was talking about how Brooks Koepka, one of the big names who jumped to LIV, was maybe, just maybe, having second thoughts. It got me thinking, what’s the real deal with these LIV contracts?
Then looked at what others are saying
- I then saw that a bunch of these LIV guys, their contracts are gonna be up soon. Like, Bryson DeChambeau’s deal is one of them. Two years, man, that’s not a lot of time.
- Then there was this thing from The Telegraph. They’re talking about the future of this PIF thing and how it might leave Koepka and Dustin Johnson in a weird spot. It’s all up in the air, you know?
What I found out about the money
So, money talks, right? I saw that Koepka pulled in 4 million bucks just for getting third place in some LIV thing in October 2023. That’s some serious cash for third place!
These contracts are pretty long
I also found out that a lot of these top LIV guys, like DeChambeau, Koepka, and Sergio Garcia, they signed up for four years back in 2022. That’s a long time to be tied down, especially if you start having regrets.
Putting it all together
So, when I put all this together, it’s a bit of a mess. You’ve got big names, big money, and some potentially big regrets. These contracts are long, the money is huge, but there’s this whole other side to it. I guess time will tell how this all plays out. But one thing’s for sure, it’s shaking things up in the golf world, big time. I think I should try to keep digging more information in the future and share them here.
