Well, folks, let me tell ya ’bout a lady named Ally Ewing. Now, she ain’t just any ol’ golfer. Nope, she’s a real champ. Born way back on October 25, 1992, in Tupelo, Mississippi, Ally grew up in a little place called Fulton. You know, small town, real simple, just like how we like it. Ain’t nothing fancy about where she came from, but look where she got to – playin’ in the big leagues!
Now, this girl, she’s been playin’ golf on the LPGA Tour for a good long while now. Got started back in 2016, and since then, she’s been makin’ waves. She won three times in her career. Yep, three! Not bad for a gal who had to work hard to make her way in the world of professional sports.
But, here’s the thing—life ain’t always as easy as it looks. You see, not long after Ally made it to the LPGA, she found out somethin’ that changed her life. She was diagnosed with Type 1 diabetes. Now, that ain’t somethin’ you’d wish on anybody, but Ally, she didn’t let it stop her. She started wearin’ a glucose patch, always keepin’ an eye on her blood sugar, like it was just another part of her routine. She ain’t no quitter, that’s for sure!
And, just like any athlete, she made plenty of sacrifices along the way. She said it herself—“I’ve missed out on things throughout my career… now I can’t look past them.” Ain’t that the truth. You gotta give up a lot to chase your dreams, and Ally knows that better than most. But she don’t regret it, not one bit. And she always gave credit to her faith, sayin’ it helped her get through them tough times.
In 2021, Ally had a special win—one she’ll remember forever. She won the T-Mobile Match Play on May 30, which just so happened to be her first wedding anniversary. That’s right, she tied the knot with her husband Charlie in 2020, and a year later, she took home the big prize. Now that’s some kinda story, ain’t it? The whole world watched her that day, and she couldn’t help but feel a little extra grateful for the love and support of her family and her faith.
But just as life comes full circle, sometimes so do careers. In a big ol’ heartfelt post on Instagram, Ally announced she was hangin’ up her golf clubs and leavin’ the professional game. She thanked all her friends and family, said her goodbyes, and talked ’bout how it was time to move on to the next chapter in her life. She ain’t sayin’ goodbye forever, though. Nah, she’ll still be around, just takin’ a step back from the grind of the tour.
So, what’s next for Ally Ewing? Well, I reckon we’ll just have to wait and see. But if you ask me, she done made her mark. She ain’t just another golfer—she’s a fighter, a winner, and a woman who knows how to balance her dreams with her faith and family. If you ask me, that’s a life worth livin’!
