Okay, so today I tried to follow Amy Goldschmidt’s stuff. I’ve heard about her amazing projects before, and I wanted to see if I could do something similar. First, I spent some time reading about what she’s done.
I started with her website.
- Checked out her projects.
- Read her blog posts.
- Tried to get a feel for her style.
Then, I decided to pick one of her projects that seemed cool, but not too complicated. I went with the one where she made a cool interactive art. I spent the next hour or so going through her documentation, trying to figure out what she used and how she put it all together. It’s a bit tough because she does a lot of cool things that I don’t fully understand yet.
Next, I tried to set up my own workspace.
- Gathered the tools and software she used.
- Made a new folder for my project.
- Got everything organized on my computer.
After that, I started working on the actual project. I followed Amy’s instructions as best as I could, but I definitely hit some roadblocks. Some of the steps were a bit confusing, and I had to stop and look up a bunch of things online. I spent a good chunk of the afternoon just trying to get the basic setup working.
Troubleshooting took up a lot of time.
- Ran into errors.
- Searched for solutions online.
- Tried different things until something worked.
Eventually, after a lot of trial and error, I managed to get a very basic version of her project running on my computer. It’s not nearly as impressive as hers, but it’s a start! I feel like I learned a lot today, even though I didn’t get as far as I hoped. I’m going to keep practicing and maybe try another one of her projects soon.
What I learned today:
- Following someone else’s project can be challenging, but it’s a great way to learn.
- Setting up the environment is super important.
- Patience is key! Don’t give up.
I’m pretty tired now, but I’m also excited to keep learning. I’m going to take a break and maybe watch some more of Amy’s stuff later. Maybe tomorrow I’ll try to add some of my own ideas to the project. We’ll see!
