Okay, so I was stumped by this crossword clue the other day: “some suede kicks.” It was a short one, just four letters. I’m not gonna lie, crosswords aren’t exactly my strong suit, but I was determined to figure this one out.
First, I thought about what “kicks” means. Obviously, it’s slang for shoes. And “suede” is that soft, kinda fuzzy leather, right? So, we’re looking for a four-letter word for shoes, specifically ones that could be made of suede.
My Brainstorming Process:
- I tried to think of general shoe types. “Boot” was too long. “Flat”? Nope.
- Then I considered brands. Could it be a super short brand name? I couldn’t think of any four-letter shoe brands known for suede.
- I wondered if was I think of the suede.
Then it hit me – PUMA! They’re famous for their suede shoes, especially those classic ones. I filled it in, and bam, it fit! It connected with the other words in the puzzle. I was pretty proud of myself, even though it was just a small win.
I finished the puzzle. The whole process reminded me that sometimes you just gotta think outside the box a little, or in this case, think about a specific brand inside the box!
