Okay, so I was watching a baseball game the other day, and I kept hearing the announcers talk about this thing called “MVR.” I’d heard it before, but I never really got what it was. So, I decided to finally figure it out, once and for all.

My Deep Dive into MVR
First, I fired up my trusty search engine. I just typed in “MVR baseball” and hit enter. I scrolled through a bunch of confusing stuff, some of it was about actual driving records! Not what I wanted.
Finally, I found something that looked * gave a name,Mound Visit Remaining.I was a little confused, and I want to know more details.
Figuring Out the Rules
So, I kept digging. I found out that there are some pretty specific rules about these mound visits:
- Each team only gets five for a nine-inning game! That doesn’t seem like a lot.
- They get an extra one for each extra inning if the game goes long. Makes sense.
- If a team runs out of visits, and the manager tries to go out there anyway, the umpire can actually eject them! Whoa.
- There are some exceptions, like checking on a potentially injured player, that don’t count as official visits.
After I read all that, I felt like I finally had a decent handle on this whole MVR thing. It’s all about strategy and trying not to waste those precious visits!
