Okay, so I wanted to figure out what’s up with the national anthem at MLB games in 2024. I’m a huge baseball fan, and I always get chills during the anthem, so I decided to do some digging.

Then, I got a little more specific. I tried searching for individual teams and their opening day, like “Yankees opening day anthem 2024”. I figured that might lead me to some specific performances or singers.
What I learned
I find some interesting things, but because MLB is played by a lot of teams from different countries, so are the performances, I just copy some of intersting performance here.
- Generally Consistent: It looks most of game is same, singing “The Star-Spangled Banner.” That’s our national anthem, it is the must of opening sercemony.
- Special Occasions: I found the special days or events, they might have a different anthem or an additional song. Like, if a Canadian team is playing, they might also do “O Canada.”
- Opening Day: is always a big deal, so the anthem performance is usually pretty special. I’d expect some bigger-name singers or cool arrangements for those games.
My conclusion
After reviewing my research and summarizing the information found, I come to the conclusion that the MLB 2024 season maintained its tradition of national anthem performances, often adding unique or localized touches to this patriotic display.
