Alright, guys, so I’ve been trying to get better at forcing fumbles in Madden 24. It’s frustrating when you hit someone hard and they just shrug it off, right? So, I did some digging and experimenting, and here’s what I’ve found works best for me.
Getting Started: The Basics
First things first, you gotta understand that just running into someone isn’t gonna cut it. You need to be a bit more strategic. I started by just trying different things, playing a bunch of games, and paying close attention to when fumbles happened, and what I did leading to that happened.
My Experimentation and What Worked
- The Hit Stick:
I focused a lot on using the hit stick (flicking the right stick). Initially, I was just flicking it randomly. Big mistake! Timing is everything. You gotta hit that stick right before you make contact with the ball carrier. Too early or too late, and you’ll just make a regular tackle. I practiced this over and over, just trying to get the feel for it. Slowly, I started seeing more fumbles.
-
Strip Attempts:
Then I started messing with the strip button (RB on Xbox, R1 on PlayStation). This was tricky. At first, I was just spamming it, which mostly resulted in missed tackles. The key, I realized, is to use it when you’re already engaged in a tackle. Like, wrap the guy up, then try to rip the ball out. Don’t just run at someone and try to strip it; you’ll probably miss.
- Player Positioning:
I also noticed that the angle of your hit matters. Coming in from the side or behind seems to work way better than head-on. If you can hit the ball carrier on their blind side, you’ve got a much better chance of knocking the ball loose. I spent some time just focusing on my defensive player positioning, trying to anticipate where the runner was going and get into a good spot to make a hit.
- Choosing the Right Players:
Certain players have better skills at forcing fumbles. I tried using guys with high hit power and strip ratings. Made a noticeable difference! I paid attention to the “Clutch” trait, and the “Strip Ball” trait, and made a point of utilizing players with those attributes.
Putting It All Together
So, after a lot of trial and error, my go-to strategy now is this:
- Use a player with good hit power and strip ratings.
- Try to approach the ball carrier from the side or behind.
- Time the hit stick perfectly, just before impact, or get a good wrap-up tackle and then try to strip.
It’s not foolproof, of course. Sometimes you’ll do everything right, and the ball carrier will still hold on. But I’m definitely forcing way more fumbles now than I used to. Keep practicing, and you’ll get the hang of it!
