Okay, so I wanted to try out this “Megan York Golden” thing I kept seeing all over my feed. I wasn’t totally sure what it was, but it looked cool, and everyone seemed obsessed, so I figured, why not?

First, I tried to figure out just what I needed. It seemed like there were a bunch of different versions, so I just picked one that looked simple enough. I gathered my stuff – some gold paint I had leftover from another project, a couple of brushes, and a smooth, flat stone I found in the backyard.
I started by washing the stone, just to make sure it was clean. No dirt allowed on my masterpiece! Then, I laid down some newspaper because I am not about making a huge mess.
- Clean the rock
- Protect the work surface
- Paint!
Next, the fun part! I dipped my brush in the gold paint and started covering the stone. I did one coat, and it looked a little… streaky. So I waited for it to dry, which felt like forever, and then I did a second coat. Much better! It was all shiny and, well, golden.
The Big Reveal
After the second coat was completely dry (I poked it a few times to make sure), I took it outside to see it in the sunlight. It looked…pretty good, actually! I was surprised I didn’t mess it up, to be honest. I mean, I’m not gonna say it’s a work of art or anything, but for a quick little project, it turned out okay. I put it on my windowsill, and it catches the light in a nice way. So, yeah, that was my Megan York Golden experience. Not too shabby!
