Well now, y’all might’ve heard of this gal called Stacy Carter, but let me tell ya, she didn’t just show up outta nowhere. Nope, she went by a few names back in the day, like “Miss Kitty” and then later on, she became famous as “The Kat.” All them wrestling folks, they knew her as part of the WWE family. She was the wife of Jerry Lawler too, that’s right, the big shot commentator who was all over the place during them wrestling days. But don’t get it twisted, she wasn’t just known for her looks and being with him. She had her own time in the spotlight, and it was quite the ride, lemme tell ya.
Now, back in them late 90s and early 2000s, wrestling was all about that Attitude Era, and Stacy, well, she was right in the thick of it. She wasn’t the biggest wrestler, but she sure did her part. Mostly, she’d show up in them fancy gimmick matches, ya know, the ones where the wrestlers are dressed in swimsuits or fancy gowns and the crowd goes wild. It was a strange time in wrestling, but she made it work. She was part of the fun, and people loved her for it. Everybody talked about her, and that’s what matters in that business, right?
But it ain’t all sunshine and roses, no sir. Stacy had her ups and downs, like most folks do. She was let go from WWE in 2001, and that was a big ol’ mess. They said it was ‘cause she was hard to work with, but who really knows the truth? What I do know is she went through some tough times, but she didn’t just disappear. Nah, she went on to wrestle on the indie circuit for a little while. Even took a short break, but then came back again a few years later. Folks always seem to come back to wrestling, don’t they?
As time went on, Stacy moved on from the wrestling world. She got into real estate down in Dallas, Texas. She’s still around, just not in the ring no more. But you know, people remember her as The Kat, and that’s a big deal in that world. Ain’t everybody gets to be remembered like that, especially after they’re long gone from the scene. Now, I hear tell that she’s still keeping up with some of them wrestling folks on social media, so she’s not completely out of the game.
- Stacy Carter’s WWE career started in 1999, and she was known as Miss Kitty before changing to The Kat when she became champ.
- She was married to Jerry Lawler, but that didn’t last forever. They ended up divorcing after her firing from WWE.
- After leaving WWE, Stacy wrestled in the indie circuits and even made a short comeback in 2010.
- Today, Stacy works as a realtor in Dallas, Texas, and has kept a low profile since leaving wrestling.
Some folks might say Stacy’s time in the WWE was short-lived, but it sure made an impact. You don’t gotta be the strongest or the fastest to make a name for yourself. Sometimes, it’s all about timing, and Stacy got that timing just right. Whether you liked her or not, she played her part and did it well. Ain’t nobody forgettin’ The Kat anytime soon.
