Alright, guys, let’s talk about basketball and how many periods are in a game. I got curious about this the other day, so I did a little digging and playing around. Here’s what I found out.

My Little Experiment
First, I jumped online to get the basic rules. Just needed a quick refresher, you know?
Then, I actually went to a local game. Nothing fancy, just a high school match. I wanted to see the flow of the game firsthand and count the periods myself.
What I Discovered
- In most games (like high school and college), there are these things called halves. Each half is then split into two quarters.
- So, you have four quarters in total.
- Then,NBA game, I saw four 12-minute quarters.
- In FIBA,they also used four,10-minute.
It’s pretty straightforward once you see it in action. I watched the clock and tracked the breaks between each quarter. It made a lot more sense seeing it live than just reading about it.
So, there you have it! My little adventure in figuring out basketball periods. Hope this helps someone else out there who was also wondering!
