Well now, ain’t that somethin’? Mustafa Ali, bless his heart, just got released from WWE. This happened back in September 2023, part of one of them big cuts WWE made. Folks been talkin’ ’bout him ever since, wonderin’ what’s next for that boy.
Mustafa, he ain’t no stranger to struggle, you know. He had asked WWE for his release back in early 2022. Folks was sayin’ he wanted to do somethin’ else, maybe find a different path. And sure enough, after waitin’ for a good long while, they finally let him go in 2023. That’s the way it goes sometimes in the big leagues, I reckon.
Now, some folks thought he’d just fade away into the background, but that sure ain’t what happened. Nah, Mustafa, he’s been busy since he left WWE. Just six weeks after gettin’ the boot, the man was already makin’ waves out there in the independent circuit. He went on to win his first title post-WWE, the Dreamwave Alternative Championship, when he beat El Hijo Del Vikingo. Ain’t that somethin’? Shows you don’t need the big stage to shine, sometimes it’s about how hard you work and what you got inside.
Ali’s been makin’ his rounds on the independent scene, too. Folks are excited to see him back in action, and I ain’t just talkin’ ‘bout a few fans here and there. No, he’s pullin’ in big crowds, and his name’s still got a lotta weight behind it. He even cut a real emotional promo at one of his independent shows back in January 2024. I tell ya, he’s one of them folks who never gives up, no matter how tough it gets.
Now, I ain’t sayin’ WWE don’t have their reasons for doin’ what they do, but you can’t help but feel for the man. Mustafa Ali had a lotta promise when he first came to WWE. Remember back at Money in the Bank 2019? He almost had that briefcase in his hands. It was just about to be his, until Brock Lesnar came in and snatched it right from under him. And the worst part? Mustafa didn’t even know he wasn’t gonna win till he was about to walk through the curtain. That’s gotta hurt, don’t it?
But that’s the wrestling business for ya. You get knocked down, and you gotta get back up again. And that’s exactly what Mustafa Ali’s been doin’. He’s still out there fightin’, still chasin’ his dreams. Ain’t nobody gonna stop him now.
In fact, he’s even comin’ back to Chicago on January 12th, 2024, to face off with Gringo Loco in a big match. Looks like the Windy City’s in for a real treat! I reckon a lotta folks gonna be showin’ up to see what Mustafa Ali’s got up his sleeve next.
And let me tell ya, it ain’t just the fans who notice. Mustafa Ali’s got a real connection with the people. He ain’t the biggest guy in the ring, but he’s got the heart and the soul of a champion. And that’s what makes him special. Sure, WWE might not have always treated him like he was at the top of the card, but that don’t mean he ain’t got what it takes to be a star on his own.
So, what’s next for Mustafa Ali? Well, I reckon we’ll just have to wait and see. He’s out there livin’ his life, takin’ on new challenges, and puttin’ in the work. And if there’s one thing I know about him, it’s that he ain’t gonna stop fightin’ for what he believes in. No sir, not ever.
So, keep your eyes open, ‘cause this ain’t the last you’ve heard of Mustafa Ali. He’s got a lot more to give, and I’m sure he’ll keep surprise us all in the years to come.
