Well, let me tell ya, things sure are changin’ for them Padres, huh? They done went and signed up that Mike Shildt fella for another couple o’ years, and I reckon they’re hopin’ he can keep doin’ what he’s been doin’. Now, I ain’t no expert in baseball, but I hear tell that Mike, he’s been a mighty fine manager. Yessir, after just one year with the Padres, they done made the playoffs under his watch. Ain’t that somethin’?
Now, if you been followin’ the Padres, you might know that Mike Shildt, he been around a long time. He managed over in St. Louis for a good bit, and he sure knows how to handle a team. He’s a man of few words, but when he talks, folks listen. And he ain’t just lucky, no sir. The man’s got the skills to back it up, even though it ain’t always easy in this game.
So, they gone and announced his coachin’ staff for 2024, too. They ain’t lettin’ things slide. Ruben Niebla, the pitchin’ coach, he’s stickin’ around with the Padres. And let me tell you, they been workin’ real hard to make sure their pitchers know what they’re doin’. I heard he signed himself a new deal, too. Been with the Padres for a spell now, and they ain’t lettin’ him go, not just yet. Then there’s Ben Fritz, the bullpen coach. I reckon they got a good mix of folks on that team now, real dedicated to gettin’ them Padres back to where they oughta be.
Now, I reckon it’s important to note that Mike Shildt, he’s had quite a run in the big leagues. Four full seasons, includin’ three with them Cardinals, and every one of ’em took him to the postseason. That’s a mighty fine track record, if ya ask me. But this 2024 season, now that one might just be his most impressive yet. I ain’t gonna lie, the way things are lookin’, folks are real excited for what he’s gonna do with the Padres next year.
I also heard tell that a couple o’ them Padres players got awards, too. Now, I don’t rightly know all the names, but Vogt and Murphy, they got themselves the 2024 Manager of the Year Awards. Big honor, that is. I reckon it’s a sign that things are movin’ in the right direction for them Padres, and with Mike Shildt at the helm, I wouldn’t be surprised if they make a real push next season.
And don’t go thinkin’ it’s all about baseball either. Mike Shildt’s got a bit of a personal life, too. I hear he married himself a gal named Michelle Segrave back in 2020. Had a little weddin’ on an off day during the Cardinals’ spring trainin’ season. Ain’t that sweet? Not every manager’s life revolves around baseball, ya know. Sometimes, it’s the little things that make life good.
So, if you’re a Padres fan, or if you’re just hopin’ to see some good baseball next season, I reckon 2024 is lookin’ real bright. They got themselves a solid manager in Mike Shildt, some good coaches workin’ behind the scenes, and a whole lotta folks rootin’ for ’em. So keep yer eyes peeled for what comes next. You never know what them Padres might pull off next season!
