Alright, so you wanna know about this Earl Hebner fella, huh? Well, let me tell ya, I don’t know much about fancy wrestlin’ stuff, but I heard some things. This Hebner guy, he wasn’t no wrestler, no sir. He was a referee, the guy who makes sure them big fellas don’t cheat too much, I reckon.
Now, from what I gather, this Hebner, he started out just helpin’ around the ring, settin’ things up and whatnot. Worked hard, he did. Folks like Dusty Rhodes and that flashy Ric Flair, they saw somethin’ in him. They figured he was alright, I guess, and he started ref-er-ee-in’ the matches. Big matches, too, like for that NWA thing.
He became a real big deal referee, you know? Like, the most famous one, some folks say. Can you believe that? A referee bein’ famous. But that’s what I heard. They say he was the best, or close to it. I don’t know about all that, seems like a lot of fuss over a guy countin’ to three.
- Started out workin’ hard, not wrestlin’
- Became famous for ref-er-ee-in’
- Even got to be in a video game, imagine that!
And get this, they put him in a video game! A wrestlin’ video game, not like Pac-Man or somethin’. He was the first referee ever to be in one of them games. That’s gotta be somethin’, right? Even I, a simple old woman, can see that’s a pretty big deal.
But then, somethin’ happened. They say he got fired, somethin’ about sellin’ stuff he wasn’t supposed to. Made folks mad, I guess. But he didn’t just quit, no sir. He went on to another wrestlin’ place, TNA, I think it was called. Kept on ref-er-ee-in’, he did. They even gave him some kinda fancy award, put him in their special club, the Hall of Fame, they called it.
Seems like this Hebner fella, he had his ups and downs, just like the rest of us. Started small, worked hard, got famous, got in trouble, and then kept on goin’. That’s life, ain’t it? Just keep on keepin’ on, like they say. Don’t count Earl Hebner out, that’s what they said, and that seems about right, considerin’ how long he stuck around.
Now, I ain’t no expert, but sounds like this Earl Hebner, he left his mark on that wrestlin’ world. From startin’ out settin’ up the ring to bein’ in a video game and winnin’ awards, that’s quite a story, I’d say. And even if I don’t understand all them wrestlin’ moves, I understand hard work and stickin’ to it, and sounds like that’s what Earl Hebner did.
This Hebner fella, he seems like a hard worker. Always did his best, I guess. And that’s all you can ask of a person, ain’t it? Workin’ hard, stickin’ with it. That’s somethin’ I can understand. Whether you’re ref-er-ee-in’ a wrestlin’ match or just plantin’ potatoes, hard work is hard work.
So that’s the story of Earl Hebner, as best as I can tell it. A referee, a hard worker, and a fella who didn’t give up. There might be more to it, but that’s all I know. And honestly, that’s probably enough for one day, ain’t it?
