Alright, let’s talk about this women’s golf thing, the Scottish Open, you know. I heard some folks talking about it down at the market, so I figured I’d tell ya what I know.
So, this Women’s Scottish Open Leaderboard, it’s a big deal, I guess. Lots of ladies hittin’ them little white balls all over the place. They got this thing called a “leaderboard,” and that’s just a fancy way of sayin’ who’s winnin’. It’s like keepin’ score in a card game, but with more walkin’ around and fancy pants.
I heard someone say somethin’ about Lydia Ko. Seems she won somethin’ big, a “major title” they called it. Good for her, I say. Probably practiced a whole lot. You don’t get good at nothin’ without puttin’ in the time, that’s what I always say. They said she won it in Scotland, at the “home of golf.” Imagine that, a whole place just for hittin’ balls! Must be nice for them golfers.
Now, this here tournament, the Scottish Open, you can watch it on TV, they said. On somethin’ called the “Golf Channel” and “Sky Sports.” Sounds fancy, but I ain’t got no time for watchin’ TV all day. Got chores to do, ya know? But if you like watchin’ folks swing sticks, you can see it there, I guess.
- They got these websites, too, like “Flashscore” somethin’ or other.
- They tell you who’s winnin’, the scores and all that.
- It’s like readin’ the newspaper, but faster, I reckon.
This Lauren Coughlin girl, she won one too, it seems. Good for her. They said you can watch replays on Sky Sports. Again with the TV! Must be important if they keep showin’ it.
The leaderboard thing, it’s got all the scores, the final results. You can even follow it, they said. Like followin’ a recipe, I guess, but instead of cookin’ you’re watchin’ golf. Seems kinda silly to me, but folks enjoy what they enjoy, right?
They play this game at a place called Dundonald Links GC. Sounds like a mouthful, don’t it? And they play for a lotta money, somethin’ like $2,000,000. That’s a whole lotta zeroes! I could sure use some of that money. Maybe I should take up golf, but I reckon I’m too old for all that walkin’ around.
This ISPS Handa Women’s Scottish Open is happenin’ again next year, they said. August 15 to 18, in some place called Gailes, Ayrshire. If you’re into golf, you can mark your calendars, I guess. Me? I’ll probably be busy cannin’ peaches or somethin’.
And then there’s ESPN, they got a leaderboard too. Seems like everybody’s got a leaderboard these days. They call it the “Trust Golf Women’s Scottish Open.” So many names, it’s hard to keep up. But it’s all part of the “LPGA Tour” they said. Whatever that is.
So, that’s the gist of it, this Women’s Scottish Open Leaderboard thing. Ladies hittin’ balls, folks watchin’, and somebody winnin’ money. It’s a whole different world than mine, that’s for sure. But hey, as long as they’re havin’ fun, that’s all that matters, right? Now, if you’ll excuse me, I gotta go check on my chickens.
