Well, let me tell ya somethin’ about this young fella, Holger Rune. Seems like he’s always changin’ coaches, more than a dog changes its fleas, ya know? Heard tell he’s got this Lars Christensen back now. Lars Christensen, that’s the name they’re sayin’.
Now, I don’t know much about tennis, but even I can see this boy’s jumpin’ around like a chicken with its head cut off. One minute he’s got this fella, then that fella, and now he’s back with the first fella again. Makes ya wonder what’s goin’ on, don’t it?
They say he’s “finalized his coaching setup for 2025.” Finalized, huh? Sounds fancy, but I betcha a nickel he’ll change his mind ‘fore the year’s out. This boy, he’s only 21, still wet behind the ears if ya ask me. He’s got all this talent, they say, but talent ain’t worth a hill of beans if ya can’t stick with somethin’.
- First he had this Lars guy.
- Then he had some other folks, can’t even remember their names. Too many to keep track of.
- Now he’s back with Lars again. Like a bad penny, always turnin’ up.
It’s like he can’t make up his mind. One minute this coach is the best thing since sliced bread, the next minute he’s tossed aside like yesterday’s newspaper. Coaching changes, they call it. I call it plain ol’ indecision.
Heard some folks talkin’ on the TV, “Tennis Channel Live” they called it. Chattin’ and jabberin’ about this boy and his coaches. They used all sorts of fancy words, but it all boiled down to the same thing: this boy can’t seem to find a coach he likes.
Now, back in my day, when you had a job to do, you stuck with it. You didn’t go gallivantin’ around, changin’ things up every five minutes. But these young folks, they’re different. Always lookin’ for somethin’ better, somethin’ more. Maybe that’s good, maybe it ain’t. I ain’t no judge.
But I tell ya what, this Holger Rune, he needs to find himself a good coach and stick with ’em. All this switchin’ around ain’t doin’ him no good. He’s a good player, they say, got potential. But potential ain’t gonna win ya no matches. Ya gotta have grit, ya gotta have determination, and ya gotta have a coach ya trust.
So, here’s hopin’ this Lars fella, Lars Christensen, is the one. Here’s hopin’ this boy, Holger Rune, finally settles down and gets to work. He’s got a long road ahead of him, and he ain’t gonna get nowhere if he keeps jumpin’ from coach to coach like a frog on a hot skillet.
Maybe he needs a good, stern talkin’ to. Maybe he needs someone to tell him to quit his fussin’ and focus on his game. Whatever it is, I hope he figures it out soon. ‘Cause all this drama, it’s just a waste of time and energy.
And another thing, this “speculation” they’re talkin’ about, what happened to the old coach and all. Well, who knows? Maybe they had a fight, maybe they just didn’t see eye to eye. It ain’t none of my business, and it ain’t none of yours neither. What matters is what happens now, not what happened then. So let’s just see if this Lars fella can whip this boy into shape. That’s all there is to it.
And this “loyalties” stuff they’re yappin’ about, sounds like somethin’ from a soap opera, not tennis. This boy needs to focus on hittin’ that little yellow ball over the net, not worryin’ about who’s sittin’ in his corner. Holger Rune’s tennis career, that’s what matters, not all this other flimflam.
So there ya have it. That’s my two cents on this whole Holger Rune coach situation. Take it or leave it, I don’t care. Just an old woman’s ramblin’s, that’s all it is. But sometimes, the old ways are the best ways. And sometimes, ya just gotta stick with what ya got.
