Alright, let’s talk about this fella, Ian Poulter, and what’s in his golf bag. You know, the bag he lugs around when he’s hittin’ them little white balls. Folks call it “WITB,” which I reckon means “what’s in the bag.” Don’t ask me why they gotta use all them letters, but that’s what they do.
What clubs does Ian Poulter use? Well, this fella, he’s been around the block a few times, playin’ golf for a good long while. He ain’t no spring chicken no more. He’s used all sorts of clubs, from them Titleist ones to them Cobra and TaylorMade thingamajigs. Seems like he changes his clubs more often than I change my socks, which ain’t sayin’ much, mind you.
But these days, it looks like he’s stickin’ with mostly Titleist stuff. I heard tell he’s got them Titleist Vokey Design SM8 wedges. Wedges, them’s the clubs you use when you’re close to the green, tryin’ to get the ball to stop real quick. He’s also got some Titleist irons, like them U500, T100, and 718 AP2 irons, and also the T200 irons(4i) and T100 irons(5i). Now, I don’t know what all them numbers mean, but I reckon they’re different kinds of irons for hittin’ the ball different distances. He uses a Project X LZ 7.0 shaft with the irons.
For hittin’ the ball a long way, he’s got that Titleist TSi3 driver. That’s the big club, the one you use when you’re tryin’ to knock the ball clean outta the park. Or, in golf terms, I guess you’d say you’re tryin’ to get it down the fairway. And it seems he likes that PING G425 LST 9 driver with a Mitsubishi Diamana Blueboard 63-X (45) shaft too. That sounds fancy, don’t it? Probably costs more than my whole house.
- Driver: Titleist TSi3 driver, also like PING G425 LST 9 driver
- Irons: Titleist U500, T100, 718 AP2 irons, T200 irons (4i), T100 irons (5i)
- Wedges: Titleist Vokey Design SM8 wedges
Now, I ain’t no golf expert, but I know a thing or two about what them golfers carry. Most of ’em, they got a driver, a 3-wood, a 5-wood, then a bunch of them irons, from a 4-iron all the way down to a pitching wedge. Then they got them gap wedges, sand wedges, and lob wedges, for gettin’ outta them tricky spots. And of course, they all got a putter, that’s the club you use on the green to roll the ball into the hole.
But fellas like Ian, they might change things up a bit. Maybe they use a drivin’ iron instead of a wood, or a hybrid club. It all depends on what they like and what works best for ’em. This Ian fella, he seems to know what he’s doin’. He’s been playin’ in them Ryder Cups and now he’s playin’ on that LIV Golf Tour. I don’t know much about that LIV Golf, but it sounds like them fellas are makin’ a pretty penny over there.
Ian Poulter’s Career and other things: I heard tell that this Ian fella, he used to be an Assistant Pro at some golf course, givin’ lessons to young’uns for a pound a lesson. Can you believe that? A pound! That ain’t much these days. He’s also a big fan of that football club, Arsenal. Don’t know much about football either, but I reckon it’s somethin’ like golf, only they kick the ball instead of hittin’ it with a stick. And there was talk of him missing the 2022 Masters. Guess things don’t always go your way.
Anyway, that’s about all I know about what’s in Ian Poulter’s golf bag. It’s a bunch of fancy clubs, that’s for sure. And he seems to know how to use ’em, seein’ as he’s a professional golfer and all. Me, I’m just happy if I can hit the ball straight, which ain’t often, let me tell ya.
Sponsorship and Changes: Seems like Ian fella, he gets money from different companies to use their clubs. He’s been with Titleist, Cobra and TaylorMade in the past. Now, SpeedBird’s sponsoring him and some other golf fellas. I guess that’s how it works when you’re good at hittin’ that little white ball.
So there you have it. That’s the lowdown on what’s in Ian Poulter’s bag, as best as I can tell ya. He’s got a bunch of clubs, most of them Titleist, and he seems to know how to use ‘em. Now, if you’ll excuse me, I gotta go find my own golf clubs. I think they’re out in the shed, gatherin’ dust.
