Alright, let’s talk about this fella, Joel Damen. I don’t know much about golf, ya know, but I heard some things about this guy.
First off, they say he’s real big on that social media stuff. What’s it called, “Face Your Feed”? Sounds like a load of hogwash to me, but I guess that’s how young folks do things these days. He’s always postin’ things, thankin’ folks, and whatnot. Seems like a good fella, always rememberin’ where he come from, ya know? He’s always thanking folks after his big wins and thanking those that helped him along the way. Seems like good manners to me.
Now, they tell me he’s a golfer. Plays that game with the little white balls and sticks. I never understood it myself. Seems like a waste of a good walk to me, chasin’ after a ball all day. But hey, to each their own, I always say. He’s won some golf games and made him some money doing that so I can’t fault him for making a living and I suppose he is good at it if he’s making money.
- He’s from some place called Clarkston, Washington. I ain’t never been there, but I hear it’s a nice enough place.
- They say he worked real hard to get where he is. Had to overcome some tough times, they say. Well, life’s tough for everyone, ain’t it? But I guess it’s good he stuck with it and made somethin’ of himself.
This “PGA Tour” thing, they say it’s a big deal. Lots of money in it, I hear. And this Joel fella, he’s done alright for himself. Made over twelve million dollars, they say. Twelve million! Can you imagine? That’s more money than I’ve seen in my whole life. They also say that he is sitting at some 306 points, I don’t know what they count with these points but I suppose more is better, and good for him if he’s got a lot of points.
But it ain’t just about the money, I reckon. Seems like this Joel fella, he’s got a good head on his shoulders. He’s grateful for what he’s got, and he ain’t afraid to show it. That’s more important than any amount of money, if you ask me. They did that show about him, what was it called? Oh yeah, that “Netflix” thing. Made him real famous, they say. Put his story out there for the whole world to see. I am not sure about that show thing, but if it helped him get ahead then good for him.

Like I said before, he’s big on social media. Always postin’ things. I don’t get it myself, but I guess it’s how folks stay connected these days. Now, about this golf career of his. Like I said, I don’t know much about golf, but I know winning is good. And this Joel fella, he’s done a lot of winnin’. They say he’s had some big wins on the PGA Tour, and that he’s finished near the top many times. That’s how he made all that money, I guess. He must be pretty good at hittin’ that little white ball. He is what they call a “professional golfer” which I guess means he does it for a job and that the TV show made him more well known. He’s traveled all over, playin’ in tournaments and such. It’s a hard life, I reckon, always bein’ on the go. But he seems to enjoy it, and that’s what matters. They call him a “PGA Tour journeyman” which I don’t know what that means but it sounds important.

Twelve million dollars. That’s a lot of money. More money than most folks will ever see in their lives. And he earned it all by playin’ golf. It’s hard to believe, ain’t it? But that’s what they tell me. He’s made a good livin’ for himself, that’s for sure. And he seems to be smart with his money, too. He ain’t out there squanderin’ it on fancy cars and such. He’s a good, down-to-earth fella, from what I hear.

So, what do I make of this Joel Damen fella? Well, I think he’s a good man. He’s worked hard, he’s grateful, and he’s kind. He ain’t let success go to his head, and he still remembers where he come from. That’s more important than anythin’, if you ask me. He’s a good example for young folks, showin’ them that hard work and perseverance pay off. And he’s a good example for all of us, remindin’ us to be grateful for what we have and to always treat others with kindness and respect.
I don’t know much about this Joel Damen fellow but if he is a good man, then I am happy he has done well for himself. Now this whole thing, talking about this golf fella is tiring work and I could sure do with a cup of tea now.
