Well, let me tell ya somethin’ ’bout this FSU football, y’know, the Florida State fellas. They been playin’ this football for a long, long time, way back since, uh, 1902 they say. That’s a whole lotta years, even more than my old mule, bless his heart. Them boys, they like winnin’, and winnin’ they did, three whole National Championships, yup, three of ’em! That’s somethin’ to brag about, ain’t it?
Now, I don’t know much about all them fancy polls and rankings, but they tell me FSU was real good for a long stretch, like, fourteen years straight they was in the top four. That’s from 1987 to 2000, I think. Folks was callin’ ’em the best around. And they had a good run of winnin’ seasons too, forty-one years straight they didn’t lose more games than they won. That’s what they call a “winning season”, fancy talk for doin’ good. And them boys even won twenty-nine games in a row one time! That’s a lot of winnin’, I tell ya.
They play in these bowl games, see? Big games at the end of the year. They played in a whole bunch of ’em, like, forty-seven they say. Won some, lost some, but mostly won. They even played in thirty-six bowl games in a row, one after another. That’s a lot of travelin’ and playin’, must be tirin’. And they had some undefeated seasons too, in 1950 and 1999. That means they didn’t lose a single game all year. Imagine that!

Some folks talk about these “unclaimed” championships, sayin’ FSU shoulda got more. Wikipedia, whatever that is, says they got six unclaimed ones. Sounds like them boys was good enough to win even more, but maybe somethin’ happened, I don’t rightly know. And they played Miami one time, beat ’em 28-10, Miami was supposed to be real good too. That musta been a fun game to watch.
They also got this thing called “conference championships.” They won nineteen of them, some in somethin’ called the “Dixie” conference and a whole bunch more in the “ACC.” And they also won six “division titles,” whatever those are. Sounds like they was always winnin’ somethin’. These boys done made Florida State proud, I reckon. And they got some famous players too, they say, some of the best to ever play. I don’t know their names, but I heard they was real good. This FSU football team, they been around a long time, and they been winnin’ a lot, that’s for sure. Three National Championships, that’s what they got. And that’s somethin’ to be proud of, even if you don’t understand all them fancy football words.
Now, some folks was sayin’ if they won a certain bowl game they should get another championship. But that sounds like wishful thinkin’ to me. You win when you win, that’s what I say. And them FSU boys, they won plenty, three big ones and a whole lot of other games too. They got a good record in them bowl games, winnin’ more than they lost. And they been ranked real high in them polls for a long time, that means people thought they was good. So, whether they got more championships comin’ or not, they done good. Real good. And that’s all there is to it.
