I heard some folks talking ’bout them bare knuckle fighters the other day. Got me thinkin’, how much money do them fellas make? It’s gotta be a rough way to earn a livin’, ain’t it? They say it’s gettin’ more popular, this bare knuckle fightin’. I seen some of it on the TV, and my oh my, it’s somethin’ else. No gloves, just fists flyin’. Reminds me of when my old man used to get into it with that no-good neighbor of ours. They never made no money though, just trouble. But these fellas, they do it for cash.
So, how much does bare knuckle fighters make? Well, from what I gathered, it ain’t the same for everyone. Some of them, the ones just startin’ out, they don’t get much. I heard tell of some gettin’ only $2,000 for a fight. That ain’t a lot, considerin’ what they put their bodies through. But then again, some make more, like $9,000. Still sounds low to me, I bet they got medical bills that big. Imagine your face looking like minced meat for 2,000 bucks. Ain’t worth it if you ask me.
Then there’s the big shots. Them ones that been doin’ it a while, they can make a pretty penny. I heard some of ’em even get $20,000 for a fight! Now that’s more like it. And even that, that’s for the ones they call them “lower-tier”, like they are some kind of food on a menu or something. Then the real big ones, like this Mike Perry, they make millions. Millions! Can you believe it?

They got this thing called BKFC, Bare Knuckle Fighting Championship. Sounds fancy, don’t it? I guess it’s like them wrestling shows, but with real punchin’. Started back in 2018, this fella named David Feldman, he’s the one who cooked it up. They say it’s growin’ fast, this bare knuckle fightin’ thing. And with it gettin’ bigger, the money’s gettin’ bigger too. I guess that’s how it goes. More eyeballs watchin’, more money comin’ in, the more money the fighters get. They said that back in 2020, some of them fighters made 2500 a fight. Not much, but it’s something I guess.
I heard they’re doing that next fight, BKFC 66 they call it, on September 13th. Should be a big one. More money to be made, I reckon. It’s all about money. They get it, they spend it, they want more of it. That’s the world we live in now.
Now, when you compare it to that regular boxin’ and that other one, MMA, well, it’s hard to say. Some folks say them bare knuckle fighters don’t make as much. Others say they make more. It probably all depends on who you are and how good you are at gettin’ hit without cryin’. And sellin’ the fight, I guess. You gotta get people to watch, that’s what they say.

They’re doin’ it all over the place now, these fights. I heard they had one in New Mexico, Rio Rancho, they called it. August 27th, 2022. That’s a long time ago, but I remember hearin’ about it. Time sure flies when you’re gettin’ old.
All in all, how much do bare knuckle fighters make? It’s a mixed bag, like a bag of them candies. Some get a little, some get a lot. It’s a rough life, that’s for sure. But I guess if you’re tough enough, and you can draw a crowd, you can make a decent livin’. Just hope you don’t end up lookin’ like that neighbor of ours after he tangled with my old man. He looked like he’d been chewed up and spat out by a bear for a few weeks. That’s all I gotta say ’bout that. I ain’t no expert, just tellin’ ya what I heard. They say it’s a few thousand dollars, sometimes hundreds of thousands of dollars. Well, that’s a lot of money. But I wouldn’t want to get hit in the face for any amount of money. I’d rather bake my pies and mind my own business, thank you very much.
