Well, let me tell you somethin’ about this Fresno State and that Eastern Washington. They’re playin’ that football, you know? And folks are bettin’ on it, which I don’t rightly understand, but that’s what they do.
Now, I hear tell this Fresno State, they ain’t what they used to be. Lost a whole bunch of their good players, the ones that run real fast and catch the ball good. So, they might not be so tough this time around. They call it “losing skill players.” Sounds like they just plain lost ’em, like they wandered off lookin’ for a lost cow or somethin’.
This other team, Eastern Washington, well, I don’t know much about ’em. But some folks, they got these fancy computers, and they say these computers can tell you who’s gonna win. Sounds like a load of hogwash to me, but what do I know? These computers, they say Eastern Washington might just win this game. They simulated it, whatever that means. Sounds like they just made it up to me.

One fella, name of Amar somethin’, he’s good for Fresno State. Scores a lot of points, they say. 18.4 points per game. Don’t ask me how they count that, seems like a lot of rigmarole. Another fella, Elijah Price is the best at grabbing the ball when it bounces off that rim, it is called a rebound, an average of 8.0 rebounds per game. That is what I heard. They say that this fella is the best rebounder. Seems like that Elijah fella must be real tall, or maybe he’s just got sticky fingers.
This game, it’s gonna be on a Saturday. Fresno State is the “favorite,” whatever that means. Sounds like they got a favorite child, and it’s Fresno State. Eastern Washington, they’re the “underdog.” Poor fellas. Always root for the underdog, myself. Just seems right, you know?
Now, some folks think Fresno State is more likely to win. They say this Fresno State is gonna win by a bunch, too. Something about “spread” and “betting odds”. Sounds complicated. I just hope it’s a good game, that’s all.
They played before, these teams. Fresno State won last time, I think. But that was then, and this is now. Things change, you know? Like the weather. One day it’s sunny, next day it’s rainin’ cats and dogs.
I reckon we’ll just have to wait and see what happens. These things, they got a mind of their own. You can guess all you want, but you never really know until the game is played. That’s what makes it interestin’, I suppose.

This whole predictin’ thing, it’s like tryin’ to guess how many beans are in a jar. You can look at it, and you can guess, but you won’t know for sure until you count ’em all out. And even then, you might have missed one.
So, Fresno State vs Eastern Washington, who’s gonna win? Your guess is as good as mine. Maybe better. I’m just gonna watch the game and hope for a good show. And maybe, just maybe, that underdog Eastern Washington will surprise us all.
They say Fresno State might win by 18.8 points, that seems impossible, and they say the final score will be 44.3 to 31. I don’t know where they get the .8 and .3 from, but I suppose it doesn’t matter. They also played some other team called Washington State Cougars on December 17th and won 28 to 16. They also played Boise State Broncos on December 3rd, and they won that one too, 30 to 0.
All this talk about winnin’ and losin’. It’s just a game, ain’t it? Important thing is they play fair and nobody gets hurt. That’s what my old pa used to say. And he was right about most things, that old man.
Well, I’ve said my piece. Go on and make your predictions, if you’re so inclined. Me, I’m gonna go put my feet up and have a nice cup of tea. And maybe watch a little bit of that game, if it’s not too much trouble to find on the television.
