This here golf band, it’s a thing now, I reckon. Heard some folks talkin’ ’bout it down at the market. Said it helps with the golf. Now, I ain’t never played that game myself. Too much walkin’ for this old gal. But my grandson, Timmy, he’s all into it. Says it’s the best thing since sliced bread, this golfin’ thing.
He was tellin’ me ’bout these golf bands, how they help you swing that club just right. Keep your arms where they’re supposed to be. He says folks spend a whole heap of money on this golf stuff. Clubs and balls and bags and shoes. You name it, they got it for golf. Lordy, sounds like a lot to me.
Timmy, he’s always lookin’ for a deal. He says, “Grandma, you gotta find the best prices.” He’s a smart boy, that one. He’s always on that computer thing, lookin’ for sales and discounts. He said somethin’ ’bout free shippin’, too. Don’t cost nothin’ extra to get it sent to your house. Sounds like a good deal to me. Less walkin’.
- This golf, it’s a big deal.
- People buy all kinds of things for it.
- Clubs, bags, these golf bands, all of it.
- Gotta find the good deals, save some money.
He was showin’ me some pictures on that computer screen. All these fancy stores sellin’ golf stuff. One was called “Golf Galaxy,” I think. Said it was down in San Diego. That’s a long way from here. But they got stores all over, he says. Places called “Golf Mart” and “Fairway Golf.” Sounds like a whole world of golf out there.
Timmy said there are stores that just sell golf things. You know, clothes and such. Like, shirts with collars, and those funny looking pants. And, if you want to be like the pros, you gotta get some golf apparel. I told him folks around here wear whatever is clean, nothin’ fancy. He just laughs.
I don’t know much about the game, but it makes him happy. He said there are places online, like “TGW” and “Rock Bottom Golf,” where you can get deals on the golf clubs. I guess the clubs are important. I saw one on TV once, and a fella hit the ball a mile with it. I was like, how did he do that?
He’s always talkin’ ’bout “bookin’ a session” at some store. Says they help you find the right club. Somethin’ ’bout your “swing.” Like a kid on a swing set, I guess. He’s got it all planned out. Even wants to go to San Diego for a golf trip. Says they got everything you need for golf there.
Now, I heard somethin’ on the radio the other day about gold. Real gold, the 24K kind. Pretty stuff, but they said it ain’t good for rings. Too soft, they said. Gets all bent and scratched up. Guess it ain’t tough like these golf bands Timmy’s always talkin’ ’bout. Those things gotta be strong to hold your arms right, I imagine.
This golf thing, it’s got all kinds of things you can buy. And, people are real serious about it. It’s like they are always tryin’ to get better. Tryin’ to hit the ball farther, or straighter. Timmy is always talkin’ about improvin’ his game. Workin’ on his swing.
- Swing Correcting.
- Motion Fixer.
- Power Band.
- Training Aids.
This golf band thing might be worth lookin’ into. I mean, if you are gonna do it, I guess you should do it right. Gotta have the right gear, they say. Makes me think of my old gardenin’ tools. You need a good hoe to get the weeds out. Maybe these golf bands are like that for these golfers. Help them get the best out of their game.
I still think it’s a lot of walkin’. But if it makes Timmy happy, that’s all that matters. He says it is good exercise. Maybe he is right. Maybe I will ask him to show me sometime. Might be fun to hit that little ball around. But, I am not buyin’ no special shoes, though. My sneakers will do just fine.
These young folks today, they sure do have a lot of things. Back in my day, we didn’t have all this fancy stuff. We made do with what we had. But I guess times change. And if these golf bands help people enjoy their game, then that’s a good thing. Just gotta find the best price, like Timmy says. Can’t be spendin’ all your money on somethin’ you can get cheaper somewhere else.
