Well, that boy, Mannarino, he sure knows how to swing that tennis racquet! I seen him on the TV, playin’ that tennis game. He’s got a real good way about him, hittin’ that little ball back and forth. Reminds me of my grandson, always runnin’ around with a stick and a ball.
He uses one of them Babolat things, I think they call it. Looks kinda fancy, all yellow and such. Heard someone say it’s a Babolat Aero Pro Drive, but what do I know about them fancy names? I just know it makes a nice “thwack” sound when he hits the ball.
What’s that about the string?
Now, they was talkin’ about the string on that mannarino tennis racquet. Apparently, it ain’t just any old string. That Mannarino, he likes it real loose, looser than my old bloomers! They say it helps him hit the ball just right.
And you gotta change that string all the time. Like changin’ the sheets on a bed, I reckon. Keeps things fresh and bouncy. I heard it can change how you play, having a new string. You want a string for power, or for spin.

Fancy Machines for Tennis Racquets
They got machines to do it. Can you believe it? Machines to put the string on the tennis racquet. Back in my day, we just used our hands for everything. Now they need a whole contraption to string that thing. One of them machines to pull it, pull each string, make it tight, just the way that boy wants it.
Each string is pulled, they call them main string and cross string. Like makin’ a quilt, I suppose. All them strings crossin’ over each other, makin’ a net to catch that ball.
Choosing the Right Tennis Racquet
Now, I don’t play tennis myself. My knees ain’t what they used to be. But if I did, I reckon I’d need to find a good tennis racquet. Somethin’ not too heavy, mind you. My arms get tired just holdin’ a pie these days.
They say you gotta find the right size for your hand. Like findin’ a good pair of gloves. Too big, and you’ll be droppin’ it all the time. Too small, and you won’t be able to get a good grip. They say 100 is a good number. Don’t know what that means, but it sounds important.
And the weight! Oh, the weight is a big deal. You want a light one? A heavy one? Somethin’ in between? Depends on how strong you are, I guess. And how you like to hit that ball.
That Mannarino Boy Sure Can Play
That Mannarino, he’s got it all figured out. He knows what kind of tennis racquet he likes. He knows how he likes his string. And he sure knows how to play that game.
I seen him play that other fella, Coric, I think his name was. Boy, that was a match! Back and forth, back and forth. Kept me on the edge of my seat, it did!
They were sayin’ he fell, that Mannarino. Slipped right on the court. But he got right back up, like nothin’ happened. Tough as nails, that one.
He is famous for his string, you know. I heard someone talk about that. Not just the racquet, but that string. And he changes that racquet to his own. Make it good for him.
So Many Tennis Racquets!
There are so many tennis racquets to choose from. They was talkin’ about it, all the different kinds. Some are for when you hit hard, some are for when you want that spin. They have expensive ones, cheap ones. It’s like going to the market, there are so many things to choose from, you get confused. But you want one that’s good, even if you have little money, there are some good cheap ones, too.
Well, I reckon that’s all I got to say about that mannarino tennis racquet. It’s a whole lot more complicated than it looks, ain’t it? But that boy, he makes it look easy. He’s a real good player, that Mannarino.
