Okay, so I’ve been messing around with this Clemson depth chart for 2024, and let me tell you, it’s been a journey. I started by digging through every corner of the internet for information. I wanted a complete list of players, from the starters to the backups, you know?
First, I hit up the official Clemson Tigers website. I figured that’s the best place to start, right? I found some good stuff there, like the basic positions and some player names. They have this list of the 2024 Clemson Tigers football depth chart and roster. I also scoured a bunch of other sports sites, trying to piece everything together.
I then started organizing the information by position. For the offense, I saw that Tristan Leigh is listed as the starting Left Tackle, and Marcus Tate is at Left Guard. There is also Mason Wade, a freshman.
- LT: TRISTAN LEIGH, Mason Wade
- LG: MARCUS TATE
For special teams, I noticed Jonathan Weitz is the placekicker and Aidan Swanson is the punter. That’s pretty standard, but it’s good to have it confirmed.
- PK: JONATHAN WEITZ, Robert Gunn III
- P: AIDAN SWANSON
I read somewhere that Clemson will face the Longhorns on December 21. They are the No. 12 seed, and Longhorns are No. 5. That’s going to be a killer match, I guess.
Then, I dove into some articles about the team’s outlook for 2024. Seems like most folks are pretty positive about how Clemson will do. They’ve got eight of their eleven starters returning, which is solid. But they’re losing Will Putnam, Will Shipley, and Beaux Collins. I also learned that Keith Adams Jr., Jarvis Green, and David Eziomume are listed as the No. 2 running backs. Adam Randall replaced Haynes as the starting kick returner, too.
Fun Fact
Did you know the Clemson teams have been called the Tigers since 1896? The name came from their coach Walter Merritt Riggs, who brought it over from Auburn University. Also, their first mascot was something called the Southern Gentleman. Pretty cool, huh?
Anyway, after all that digging and organizing, I finally put together a pretty comprehensive depth chart. It was a lot of work, but it’s satisfying to see it all laid out. I’m no expert, but I feel like I’ve got a good handle on what the Tigers are looking like for 2024. Go Tigers!
