Okay, so I’ve been messing around with this “Honkai: Star Rail” game lately, and there’s this character, Jiaoqiu, who’s got a pretty cool voice, you know? I got curious and wanted to figure out who was the guy behind the voice.
First off, I just jumped straight into the game. Played a bit, listened to Jiaoqiu talk during some cutscenes and battles. It’s a smooth voice, kind of calming but with a bit of an edge, which I guess fits since he’s some kind of healer but also a bit sly.

Next, I started poking around online. Just some basic searches, you know, like “Jiaoqiu voice actor” or “Honkai Star Rail English voice cast.” Found a bunch of fan wikis and forum posts, and it didn’t take long to see a name pop up a few times: Mark Whitten.

Step two: Hit the web and do some simple searches.
Now, this Mark Whitten guy, apparently he’s a pretty big deal in the voice acting world. He’s done voices for a ton of stuff, including that Kaedehara Kazuha from “Genshin Impact.” I remember that character, he is also cool.

Step three: Dig a bit deeper on this Mark Whitten.
I kept digging, and yup, it’s confirmed. Mark Whitten is the English voice for Jiaoqiu. There were even some interviews and stuff where he talks about voicing the character. Also learned that Jiaoqiu was born into some kind of an important medical family and almost quit his job because of love problems. Pretty interesting backstory, huh?

Step four: Confirm it’s the right guy and learn more about the character Jiaoqiu.

It’s always cool to put a face (or a voice, I guess) to the characters you play in these games. I also learned that Jiaoqiu has a lot of different voice actors in different languages!
