Okay, so I stumbled upon this “Brian Harman WITB” thing and decided to give it a shot. I mean, who’s Brian Harman anyway? Turns out, he’s some pro golfer who won some big tournament. And WITB? It’s “What’s in the Bag” – basically, a peek at the gear he uses. It sounded simple enough, and I could use it!
First things first, I needed to know more about this Harman guy and his tools. A quick search revealed that he’s a Titleist staffer, whatever that means. He’s got a bunch of their clubs, which are apparently a big deal in the golf world. I wouldn’t know, I’m more of a keyboard warrior than a golf swing master.
So, I started by listing out all the stuff that was supposedly in Harman’s bag, based on what I found online. It was a mix of drivers, irons, wedges, and a putter – all with fancy names that meant nothing to me. I just copied them down, trying to make sense of it all.
What I found
- Driver: Titleist something or other
- Irons: Titleist this and that
- Wedges: Titleist blah blah blah
- Putter: Titleist something else
Then came the fun part – or so I thought. I decided to see if I could actually use any of this stuff, maybe even try to hit a few balls. I borrowed some clubs from a friend, making sure they were Titleist brand, just like Harman’s. It felt weird, holding a golf club instead of a mouse.
I went to a local driving range, feeling completely out of place. I tried to mimic what I’d seen golfers do on TV, but it was a disaster. Balls were flying everywhere, except where I wanted them to go. I spent a good hour just whacking away, getting more frustrated by the minute.
After that humbling experience, I figured I should at least look the part. I found out Harman wears FootJoy Tour Alpha shoes, so I got myself a pair. They were comfy, I’ll give him that, but they didn’t magically improve my golf game, surprisingly.
In the end, my “Brian Harman WITB” experiment was a total flop, at least in terms of becoming a better golfer. But hey, I learned a few things. I now know what WITB stands for, I can name a few Titleist clubs, and I have a newfound respect for pro golfers. It’s way harder than it looks!
I realized that just having the same gear as a pro doesn’t make you a pro. It takes skill, practice, and probably a lot of natural talent – things I clearly lack in the golfing department. But it was a fun little adventure, and now I’ve got a story to tell. Plus, I have some cool new shoes, even if I don’t know how to use them properly on a golf course.
Maybe I should stick to what I’m good at. But who knows, maybe one day I’ll give golf another shot. For now, I’ll just admire Harman and his fancy clubs from afar. I can do it!
