Hey everyone, I’m back again with another story to share. Today, it’s all about my experience watching and following Alex Pereira, that beast in the UFC. I’ve been tracking his fights and I’m telling you, this guy’s journey is wild.
So, first off, I started watching him a while back. I remember seeing a fight at UFC 295, it was insane! The place, Madison Square Garden. The atmosphere was so electric, I felt like I was there. Pereira went up against Jiř Prochzka, and it was a knockout, people! I was jumping out of my seat. That’s when I really started paying close attention to this guy.
Then, I dug into his history a bit. Man, this guy was a kickboxing legend before he even hit the UFC. 33 wins, 7 losses, and 21 knockouts. In Glory Kickboxing, he was 12-4 with 8 knockouts. That’s some serious striking power. It blew my mind how he transitioned to MMA and just kept destroying.
- Watched UFC 295, Pereira vs. Prochzka, crazy knockout!
- Looked up his kickboxing record – total beast mode.
- Followed him to UFC 303, another knockout win.
Fast forward to UFC 303, I watched it live, well, on PPV. It was in Vegas, and the energy was off the charts. Pereira, now the Light Heavyweight champ, was defending his title. Guess what? Another knockout! I was watching with my buddies, and we were all going nuts. Pereira is just on another level. He’s got this left hook, man, it’s like a sledgehammer. He whips his hip and rotates his body, and boom, lights out. It’s beautiful, in a brutal kind of way.
And you know what’s crazy? He’s making bank too. I heard for one fight he got like $500,000 as a base salary, plus PPV shares and sponsorships. It’s cool to see a fighter get what they deserve. Then I saw for his fight against Jan Blachowicz, his base salary was lower, but he still made over a million. I guess moving up in weight class changes things, but still, the guy’s raking it in.
What I’ve Learned
Watching Pereira’s fights and following his career has been a wild ride. It’s not just about the knockouts, but seeing how he’s evolved, how he’s adapted his kickboxing skills to MMA. He’s a true martial artist. I’ve learned that with the right technique, mixed with some natural talent, you can really go far. And it’s awesome to see someone succeed and get paid well for their hard work.
So, yeah, that’s my Pereira story. I’m gonna keep watching him, and I’m excited to see what he does next. If you haven’t seen him fight yet, you’re missing out. This guy is a legend in the making.
