Okay, so I got a wild hair to figure out where this John Deere Classic golf thing was happening. I heard about it on the radio, and it sounded like a big deal, so I got curious. I’m a big map guy, always have been, so naturally, the first thing I did was fire up my computer.
I started with a simple search. Just typed in “John Deere Classic location” into the search bar. Boom, right there in the results, it said this thing goes down in Silvis, Illinois, at a place called TPC Deere Run. Okay, that’s something to work with.
Next, I wanted to get a better sense of where this Silvis place was. I mean, I’d heard of it, but I couldn’t have pointed it out on a map. So I dug a little deeper. Turns out it’s part of the Quad Cities. Never would have guessed that.
Now, about getting to this TPC Deere Run. I read that if you’re going, you gotta have a digital ticket. Makes sense, everything’s digital these days. And there was something about parking too. Looks like there’s a special lot, number 7, for accessible parking. That’s good to know. I jotted down the address: 3100 Heather Knoll. Don’t want to get lost.
I also found some rules about what you can and can’t wear. Seems pretty standard for a golf event. No jeans, no tank tops, no swimsuits, that kind of stuff. You can wear shorts, but they gotta be a decent length. And shirts with collars are a must, though they can be mock collars, whatever those are. Got it.
Then there was this bit about a “cut” at the tournament. From what I gathered, they start with 127 golfers, and after 36 holes, they cut it down to the top 65. It is a competition, after all. I made a mental note of that.
- Searched “John Deere Classic location”
- Found it’s in Silvis, Illinois, at TPC Deere Run
- Learned Silvis is part of the Quad Cities
- Noted digital tickets are required
- Found accessible parking at Lot 7, 3100 Heather Knoll
- Read the dress code: no jeans, tank tops, etc.
- Understood there’s a cut from 127 to 65 golfers
So, there you have it. That’s how I figured out where the John Deere Classic is held and a few other tidbits. It was a fun little research project. I love doing this kind of stuff. Maybe I’ll even go check it out sometime. It’s always cool to see these places in person after you’ve mapped them out.
I am done with sharing. Hope it helps someone.
