Alright, so y’all wanna hear about this tennis match, the one with Zverev and that other fella, De Minaur? I watched it, kinda. Was busy most of the time, you know, gotta feed the chickens and all. But I caught enough to tell ya somethin’ about it.
First off, this Zverev fella, he’s somethin’ else. Big guy, hits the ball real hard. He’s like that bull we had last year, powerful and gets the job done. I heard he’s got some sugar problem, diabetes they call it. Poor thing. But he don’t let it stop him none. He even started somethin’ to help other folks with the same problem. Good for him, I say. He’s also got a little girl, three years old they say. Time flies, doesn’t it? Seems like just yesterday my own were that small.

That’s somethin’ to be proud of, even if he lost this match. He reminds me of my grandson, always runnin’ around, never tired. This De Minaur fella, he put up a good fight in Paris, but Zverev was just too strong. Lost in straight sets, they said. Means he didn’t win a single set. Tough luck, but that’s how it goes sometimes.
This match, it was in Paris. Fancy place, Paris. Never been there myself. Too busy here with the farm and all. They call it the French Open or something like that. Roland-Garros. Sounds real fancy. They play on clay courts, which is different from that hard stuff they play on sometimes. Makes the ball bounce all funny, I reckon. I watched a bit of it on the TV. My son set it up for me. He says it’s the “Euro啥啥” channel. Too many buttons on that thing for me.

Must be good to be up there. This De Minaur fella, he lost to another fella named Medvedev too. And that Sinner guy, he beat someone named Fritz. All these names, hard to keep track of ’em. Too many young whippersnappers running around these days.

Who beat who and all that. It’s like keepin’ score, but on a much bigger scale. My husband used to keep score of the baseball games. Same kinda thing, I guess.
So, yeah, Zverev beat De Minaur. That’s the long and short of it. Zverev is strong, De Minaur is quick, but sometimes quick ain’t enough. It was a good match, from what I saw. Now, if you’ll excuse me, I gotta go check on them tomatoes. Them bugs been eatin’ at ‘em somethin’ fierce.
