This here story, it’s about that Ava Catherine Pitino. You know, one of them Pitinos. Heard that name, Pitino, a whole lot around here. Big shot basketball folks, that’s what they are.
That Rick Pitino, he’s the big cheese. Coached all them teams, made a whole heap of money. They say he’s got more money than you can shake a stick at. 45 million dollars. No, it is 50 million dollars. That’s what they say. He married that Joanne Minardi, and they had a bunch of young’uns. Five, I reckon.
One of them kids, Richard, he’s a coach too. Like father, like son, I always say. This Richard, he’s got a wife, Jill. And they got three little ones runnin’ around. One of ’em is that Ava Catherine Pitino. That’s the one we’re talkin’ about.
Now, I ain’t met that Ava Catherine. Don’t know much about her, truth be told. She is a little girl, and she has a brother, Jack. But that family, they’re always in the papers and on the TV. Basketball this, basketball that.
That Rick, he had a sad thing happen. Lost one of his boys, Daniel. Just a baby, six months old. Heart trouble, they said. Breaks your heart, it does. They got some foundation thing, the Daniel Pitino Foundation. To help other folks, I suppose. Good on ’em for that. And Joanne, she is the co-founder of David Pitino foundation. Good woman.
This Richard, Ava’s daddy, he’s the youngest coach in some big-time basketball group. Must be hard, bein’ Rick’s son. Everyone’s always comparin’ you to your daddy. “People always look at me like I’m Rick Pitino’s son,” he said. I reckon that’s true.
But this here Ava Catherine Pitino, she’s just a little sprout. Don’t know what she’ll be when she grows up. Maybe she’ll play basketball, maybe not.

Well, I reckon that’s all I got to say about that Ava Catherine Pitino. Just a little girl in a big basketball family. Hope she has a good life, that’s all. That Richard, he seems like a good daddy.
That Rick, he’s done good for himself. Made a lot of money. But money ain’t everything, you know. Family’s what matters. And it looks like that Ava Catherine Pitino has got a whole lot of family.
This Richard is 34 years old, and has three kids. These kids are very young, just 5 and under. He is a husband to Jill, also a young coach in basketball.
I heard people talking about Rick Pitino, he is a famous coach. He is really rich. I guess Ava Catherine Pitino is lucky to be born in that kind of family.
