Okay, so I wanted to make this “UFC cup” thing I saw online. I’m not even a huge UFC fan, but the cup looked kinda cool and I figured, why not?

First, I gathered all the stuff I needed. I already had some plain white cups from a party, so that was a start. Then I went to the craft store and picked up some red and black paint, you know, the basic UFC colors. I also grabbed a few different sized paintbrushes, because I wasn’t sure how detailed I wanted to get.
The Messy Part
Back home, I laid down some newspaper on the kitchen table – my wife would kill me if I got paint everywhere. I started by painting the entire cup red. It took a couple of coats to get it nice and even, and I had to wait for each coat to dry before adding the next. Patience is not my strong suit, let me tell you.
Once the red was completely dry, I took the black paint and a thin brush and tried to paint the UFC logo. Let’s just say it wasn’t as easy as it looks. My hand was shaky, and the letters ended up looking a bit… wonky. But hey, it’s homemade, right? It adds character!
- First coat: Pretty streaky.
- Second coat: Better, but still needed another one.
- Third coat: Finally, solid red!
After I finished with letters as best I could, I added that Octagon shape below it with the thicker brush. This was a bit easlier since it was lines instead of tiny letters.
The Final Result
I let the whole thing dry overnight, just to be safe. In the morning, I looked at my creation. It wasn’t perfect, not by a long shot, but it was definitely recognizable as a UFC-inspired cup. I filled it up with coffee, took a sip, and felt pretty good about my little DIY project.
It’s not gonna win any art awards, but it was a fun way to spend an afternoon. And now I have a unique cup to use while I, uh, watch… stuff. Maybe I’ll even become a UFC fan after all!
