Alright, so, I got this crazy idea the other day. I was playing Genshin Impact, and, as usual, I was running out of power for my devices. Then it hit me – why not make a portable power saw themed around Genshin? Sounds nuts, I know, but stick with me here.

The Brainstorming
First, I needed to figure out what this thing would even look like. I spent a good few hours just sketching out random ideas. Should it be shaped like a sword? Maybe have some elemental designs? I was all over the place. Finally, I decided to base it on the in-game claymores. They’re big, chunky, and just look powerful. I imagined the Anemo element, so the color is green.
Gathering Supplies
Next up, the materials. I’m no engineer, so I kept it simple. I grabbed:
- A basic, cheap power saw. No need for anything fancy, just something that cuts.
- Some foam boards. Easy to work with and shape.
- Lots of glue. Super glue, hot glue, you name it.
- Paint. Mostly greens, whites, with some silver for that metallic look.
- A few LED strips. Gotta have that cool glow, right?
The Build
This is where things got messy. I started by taking apart the power saw. Just the casing, though, I didn’t want to mess with the motor or anything. Then, I traced the shape onto the foam boards and started cutting out the claymore design. It took a few tries to get it right, lots of trimming and adjusting.
Once I had the basic shape, I started layering the foam to give it some thickness. This was probably the most tedious part. Glue, wait, glue, wait… you get the idea. After what felt like forever, I had a pretty solid claymore-shaped shell.
Adding the Details
Now for the fun part! I used a marker to draw on some Anemo-inspired designs. Swirls, wing-like patterns, the works. Then, I carefully cut out some channels for the LED strips. I wanted them to be visible but not stick out too much.
Painting was next. I started with a base coat of light green, then added darker shades for depth. The silver paint went on the “blade” edge and some of the details to make it look more metallic. I even used a bit of white to highlight certain areas.
Putting It All Together
Finally, I glued the foam shell onto the power saw casing. I made sure to leave openings for the trigger and the power cord, of course. The LED strips were tucked into their channels, and I wired them up to a small battery pack that I hid inside the handle.
The Result
And… it actually worked! It’s not the prettiest thing in the world, and it’s definitely not winning any design awards, but it’s my Genshin Impact portable power saw. It cuts wood, it lights up, and it makes me smile every time I use it. What more could you ask for?

Would I recommend this project? Honestly, it’s a lot of work for something that’s mostly just for fun. But if you’re a Genshin fan, and you enjoy a bit of DIY, why not give it a shot? Just be careful with the power tools, okay?
