Alright, so I’ve been sinking a good bit of time into Black Clover M lately, you know how it goes. After playing a bunch and getting a feel for the different characters, I figured, why not try and sort them out? Make my own little tier list, just based on what I’ve seen work and what hasn’t, at least for me.

Getting Started
First thing I did was just kinda dump all the characters I’ve used or faced onto a rough list. Didn’t really organize it much at first, just wanted to get everyone down. I was mostly thinking about who felt strong in the story missions and who gave me a hard time in the arena, that sort of thing. It’s all about practical use, right?
I grabbed a notebook, yeah, old school, and just started jotting down names. Then next to the names, I put little notes like “hits like a truck,” “good healer,” “dies too fast,” “useful stun.” Just simple stuff, my raw thoughts from playing.
Making the Tiers
Okay, then came the sorting part. I decided to go with the usual S, A, B, C tiers. Didn’t want to overcomplicate it.
- S Tier: For me, these are the absolute game-changers. The characters you pretty much always want on your team if you have them. Super strong, super useful.
- A Tier: Really solid characters. Maybe not quite broken like the S tiers, but definitely pull their weight and are great in most situations.
- B Tier: Good, reliable folks. They get the job done, maybe need a bit more support or are good in specific situations but not always the top pick. Still very usable.
- C Tier: Kinda situational or just outclassed. You can use them, especially early on, but you’ll probably want to replace them later. Not terrible, just… meh.
The Tough Part – Placing Everyone
This took the most time, honestly. I started moving names around between the tiers on my paper. Some were easy calls. You know, like putting someone like Mars pretty high up early on because, man, that dude is just tough and annoying to deal with. Lotus also felt like a strong contender for the top spots because his debuffs are just so good.
Then there were others I kept moving back and forth. Like, maybe a character is amazing in story mode but kinda gets wrecked in PvP, or vice-versa. Where do you put them then? I tried to balance it out, thinking about overall usefulness. I put William Vangeance pretty high because his support and speed control felt really impactful in a lot of fights I was in.
Some healers were tricky too. Mimosa is obviously great, but where do the others fall? I put some in A, some in B, depending on their extra utility besides just healing.
Important note: This is totally just my view! Based on my teams, my gear, and the opponents I’ve faced. Someone else might have a totally different experience and rank characters differently, and that’s cool.
Final Look and Thoughts
After shuffling names around for a while, I had something that looked like a decent list. I read it over, thought about some recent fights, and tweaked one or two placements again. You know, maybe I underestimated someone initially, or maybe a character I thought was great got countered hard recently.

So yeah, that was basically my process. Played the game, took some notes, defined what my tiers meant, and then spent time slotting everyone in based on my gut feeling and experience. It’s not scientific, just a practical list from one player’s perspective. Maybe it helps someone, maybe it starts a discussion, either way, it was interesting to put my thoughts down like this.
