Okay, so, I wanted to figure out who’s playing for the Boston Celtics this season, and more importantly, like, who’s actually gonna be on the court and when. You know, the starting lineup, the bench, all that good stuff. So I decided to dive in and make my own depth chart.
First things first, I had to get the roster. It was not like I memorized it or anything. I went and found a few different sites that listed all the players. Just to be sure, I checked more than one source. It is quite easy.
Then, I started thinking about who the starters probably were. It wasn’t too hard, I mean, you got Jayson Tatum and Jaylen Brown, those two are like, the stars. Then there’s Jrue Holiday, who they just got in a trade, so he’s gotta be starting, right? And then I figured Kristaps Porzingis is probably the center.
The trickier part was the fifth starter. I was going back and forth between Derrick White and Al Horford. White’s younger and can run the floor, but Horford’s the veteran, you know, the experienced guy. After thinking about it for a while, I decided to put White in the starting lineup. Just seemed like a better fit with all that speed and shooting alongside the other guys.
Building the Bench
After I got my starters, I moved on to the bench. Horford, obviously, he’s the sixth man. Then there’s Payton Pritchard, he’s the backup point guard. And Sam Hauser, he can shoot the lights out.
Figuring out the rest of the bench took some work. I looked at who played last year, who they drafted, and who they signed in free agency. It was like putting together a puzzle, you know, trying to see how all the pieces fit.
- Luke Kornet is probably the backup center, because he’s like the only other true center on the team.
- Oshae Brissett, he’s a forward, so I put him behind Tatum and Brown.
- Svi Mykhailiuk, another shooter, he is behind Hauser.
- And then I had to figure out who’s gonna be the end-of-bench guys. I went with Dalano Banton and Jordan Walsh.
Finally, after a lot of thinking, moving names around, and double-checking, I had my depth chart! It felt good to have it all figured out. Now I’ll know who to expect on the court when I am watching the game. It wasn’t rocket science, but it was a fun little project. And hey, if the Celtics make any more moves, I’ll be ready to update my chart!
