So, the other day I was messing around online, and I stumbled upon this “champagne goggles” thing. It sounded kinda funny, so I decided to give it a shot. Basically, it’s supposed to make websites look all fancy and 3D-ish, like you’ve had a few glasses of bubbly.

Getting Started
First, I dug around for some info. Turns out, it’s a little piece of code, some kind of script, that you add to a website.
I grabbed the code from this page that, and it looked pretty simple, just a bunch of text.
Adding it to a Website
Next, I needed a website to test it on.I opened up one of my *, I found the main HTML file – that’s the one that holds all the website’s content.
I pasted the “champagne goggles” code right before the closing </body> tag. That’s what the instructions said to do, anyway. Something about making sure the code runs after the rest of the page loads.
The Moment of Truth
I saved the file and opened it up in my browser. And… wow! It actually worked! The whole page had this weird, kinda warped 3D effect. Like I was looking at it through a funhouse mirror, or, yeah, maybe after a few too many champagnes.
- Text looked like it was floating at different depths.
- Images were all skewed and distorted.
- The whole thing was kinda trippy, to be honest.
Messing Around
I spent a good while just scrolling around and playing with it. It definitely made the website look… different. Not necessarily better, but different. It’s one of those things that’s cool for a few minutes, but then you probably want to turn it off.
It was a fun little experiment, anyway! Definitely a weird way to spice up a boring website, if you’re into that kind of thing.
