Well, hey there, y’all! Let’s gab a bit about that basketball game, the one with the USA and Canada, you know, the one they played in 2024. I heard some folks talkin’ about it down at the market, so I figured I’d share what I know, or what I heard, anyways.
So, first off, they played this game on July 11th. Don’t ask me what year exactly, but it was recent-like, 2024 I think they said. Now, I ain’t no fancy sports person, but even I know the USA likes their basketball. They got some fellas, real good ones too. I heard someone sayin’ somethin’ about a fella named Stephen Curry. And another one, Devin Booker, I think. And, uh, let me see, there was one more…Jrue Holiday, that was it! Yeah, them fellas, they were the starters, real important players I guess.

Now, Canada, they ain’t no slouches neither. They got a team too, and they played hard, real hard. I ain’t sure who their players were, names are hard to remember for an old gal like me, but I heard they gave the USA a run for their money.
The game, it wasn’t no nail-biter, though. The USA, they won. Beat Canada pretty good, I reckon. Someone said the score was 86 to 72. That sounds like a big win to me. Yep, they won “convincingly,” that’s what them fancy folks on the TV said. It was just a show-off game though, not for no big prize, just gettin’ ready for somethin’ bigger, the Olympics they called it.
Later on, I hear tell there was another game, September 7th, I think. This time, Canada, they won! Beat the USA 2 to 1. Now, I don’t rightly understand how basketball scores can be 2 to 1, but that’s what they said. Maybe it was a different kind of game or somethin’. Anyways, Canada got that one, so good for them, I say.

Folks were all a-buzz about these games, seein’ if the USA and Canada would play again in the Olympics, for the gold and all. It woulda been somethin’ special, them two teams, neighbors and all, fightin’ for the top spot. But it didn’t happen, not for the gold, leastways. Don’t know why, maybe they lost to some other teams. Shame, really. Woulda been a good match-up, that’s for sure.
So that’s the gist of it, as far as I can tell. USA and Canada, they played some basketball in 2024. USA won the first game, Canada won the second. And folks were hopin’ they’d play for the gold, but it just weren’t meant to be. That’s life, I guess. Sometimes things work out, sometimes they don’t. But hey, at least they gave us some good games to watch, right?
