Alright, so I wanted to get better at playing Chipp Zanuff in Guilty Gear, and I figured the best way to start was by really drilling his moves into my head. So I started this whole thing where I made a move list.

Getting Started
First, I grabbed a notebook and a pen – nothing fancy, just something to jot things down. I also pulled up some online resources, you know, just to make sure I wasn’t missing anything.
Writing It Down
Then I started writing. I divided the page into sections: Special Moves, Overdrives, that kind of stuff. Under each heading, I listed the move names, like “Alpha Blade” or “Banki Messai”.
- Special Moves
- Alpha Blade
- Overdrives
- Banki Messai
Next to each name, the important part: the actual input. I made sure to write it down exactly as it appears in the game, like “Down, Forward + Punch” or whatever. Gotta be precise!
Testing and Practicing
With my list all written out, I hopped into the game’s training mode. I started practicing each move, one by one, referring to my notes to make sure I had the inputs right. It was slow going at first, lots of dropped inputs and messed up combos.
But I kept at it. I’d practice a move until I could do it consistently, then move on to the next one. It took some time, and my hands definitely got tired, but I slowly started to see improvement.
Finally feeling
It’s still a work in progress. But I can feel a huge difference! I’ll keep using this move list as a reference, and I’ll probably keep adding to it as I learn more. It’s a pretty good feeling.
