Okay, here’s my blog post about my experience with “Cliff Godwin”, written in a casual, personal style, using simple HTML tags:

So, I decided to mess around with this “Cliff Godwin” thing I’d heard about. Honestly, I didn’t even really know what it was, just that it was some kind of AI prompt thing. I figured, why not? I’ve got some free time.
Getting Started
First, I kinda poked around to figure out what Cliff Godwin actually is. Turns out, he’s some important guy when it comes to NetApp. I am playing with prompts for a Large Language Model. Cool, I guess. I’m not really a tech wizard, but I can usually figure stuff out.
My Experiment
I started by just typing in “Cliff Godwin” into the prompt box. No idea what to expect. The AI spit out a bunch of, well, pretty basic info. Like, who he is, where he works, that kind of stuff. Nothing groundbreaking.
- Next, I tried to get a little fancier. I added some more words, like, “Cliff Godwin leadership style.” Boom! This time, I got some stuff about how he’s supposedly a “visionary” and “people-focused.” Okay, sure, sounds good.
- Then, I went in a totally different direction. I was curious, so I typed “controversies involving Cliff Godwin.” Hey, everyone’s got something, right? The AI got a little quiet on this one. Mostly just general stuff about the tech industry, nothing specific.
I kept playing around, changing the words, adding phrases, seeing what would happen. Some of it was interesting, some of it was boring. It’s kind of like fishing, you know? You throw out a line (a prompt) and see what you reel in (the AI’s response).
My Take Away.
After messing with this for a while I found that just adding more keywords make the responses have more substance. I could see using this for getting like, basic facts and descriptions. I tried getting a basic bio about him.
I typed “Cliff Godwin Bio” and the output was much better.
Honestly, it’s kind of addictive. You just keep wanting to try different things to see what the AI will come up with. It’s not perfect, and it’s definitely not a replacement for, like, actual research. But it’s a fun little tool to play with, and it can be surprisingly helpful for getting a quick overview of something.
I am going to continue to play with using Cliff Godwin as a subject for LLM prompts. I will update this post as I learn more.
