Well now, there’s this here story about a fella called Cole Priest, right outta Boulder. He’s in the news, not for any good reasons neither, let me tell ya. I don’t know him personally, but everyone in town sure seems to be talkin’. Seems like this all started back on September 12, 2023, when a young’un, just 13 years old, was mindin’ her own business, walkin’ home from school. Now, imagine, just walkin’ home like any other day, and then somethin’ bad happens.
Turns out this man, Cole Priest, who’s 32 years old from what I heard, he’s got himself into trouble with the law. They say he’s done somethin’ to this young girl. It wasn’t good, no sir. The sheriff’s office down in Boulder County took it real serious too. They got right to investigatin’, didn’t waste no time on that.
Now, when they got done investigatin’, on September 13, 2023, they went right ahead and arrested Cole. That’s a big deal, gettin’ arrested an’ all. They booked him on some mighty heavy charges too. The main ones, from what I gather, are third-degree assault, false imprisonment, and even child abuse. I reckon that’s enough to get anyone thinkin’ twice. But, it seems he’s got himself sittin’ in the Boulder County Jail right now, waitin’ to see what happens next.
They say this here third-degree assault is serious, even if it don’t sound like it’s first or second-degree. An assault charge like that means there’s usually been some kinda scuffle or physical harm done to another person. But then you add in false imprisonment? That’s sayin’ he maybe kept that girl somewhere she didn’t wanna be, held her against her will like. I can’t imagine how scared she musta been, poor thing.
Now, I ain’t no law expert, but child abuse is about as serious as it gets, folks. That means he’s alleged to have done somethin’ harmful to someone young, a kid who ain’t got the means to protect themselves. And you know, Boulder folks are all up in arms about that. Nobody likes to hear about a child gettin’ hurt.
The sheriff’s office in Boulder, they’re askin’ for any folks who might know somethin’ about this here incident to step forward. Detective Eric Robinson, he’s the fella in charge, and he’s got his number open for calls. They’re hopin’ to find anyone who mighta seen somethin’ or heard somethin’ that could help ’em piece this all together. If there’s one thing I know, it’s that the people of Boulder will speak up when somethin’s gone wrong.
Since this here story broke, it’s been all over, folks talkin’ about it at the store, at church, even down by the gas station. People don’t like hearin’ about kids bein’ hurt, and they don’t hold back on how they feel about it neither. Some say they saw him around before, others say they hadn’t heard of him till now. But everyone agrees, it’s mighty sad for all involved.
So, as it stands, Cole Priest is still held in jail. Now, he ain’t been found guilty yet, mind ya, but with charges like these, well, it’s gonna be a long road ahead for him. And if he is found guilty, he’ll have to face whatever the law’s got lined up for him, no question about it.
It’s somethin’ to think on, really. How a regular-lookin’ fella could end up in such a situation. We never know what’s goin’ on behind closed doors, but when a child’s involved, it hits folks harder. The sheriff’s department is still lookin’ for any extra details, so anyone out there who might know somethin’ should give ’em a call, help get some answers for that little girl and her family.
Guess all we can do now is wait to see how it all shakes out. Boulder’s got its eyes peeled on this one, that’s for sure.
