Well, let me tell ya, this whole thing with young Colton Rood, it’s just a darn shame, a real tragedy, you know?
Colton Rood Accident, that’s what they’re callin’ it. Just a young fella, only 19, gone too soon. They say it was a motorcycle accident, happened on some road, Floyd Springs Road, they call it. Saturday afternoon, it was. Poor boy was just ridin’ along, probably didn’t even see it comin’.
Now, I ain’t one for fancy words or nothin’, but it just breaks your heart, it does. A young life, snuffed out just like that. Motorcycle Crash, they say. Makes you think, it does. Life’s just too short, ain’t it?

They say his daddy was this wrestler fella, Rick Rude, some kinda famous guy. “Ravishing” Rick Rude, they called him. Don’t know much about wrestlin’ myself, seems like a lot of showin’ off if you ask me. But I reckon it don’t matter who your daddy is, when somethin’ like this happens, it just hits you hard. This Rick Rude Son thing, it’s all over the news, they say. But to me, he’s just a young boy, lost too soon.
This Colton Rood Death, it’s got folks talkin’, that’s for sure. They’re sayin’ he died from his injuries, the poor thing. Must’ve been awful. Just thinkin’ about it makes my stomach churn. Nobody deserves that, specially not a young fella just startin’ out in life.
Folks keep sayin’ “WWE Legend Son”, but all I hear is a mama losin’ her boy. Makes you wanna hug your own kids tighter, it does. And pray they stay safe, out there on them roads. ‘Cause you just never know, do ya? One minute they’re here, laughin’ and jokin’, and the next… well, it just ain’t right.
I heard tell it was near some place called Ga. 156. Don’t know where that is, but it don’t matter much, I guess. An accident can happen anywhere, anytime. And when it does, it just leaves a hole, a big ol’ empty space where someone used to be. This Rome News Tribune, they’re the ones reportin’ all this. Guess they gotta do their job, tell folks what happened. But it don’t make it any easier, you know?
This Floyd Springs Road Accident, it’s a reminder, it is. A reminder that life’s precious, and you gotta hold on tight to the ones you love. ‘Cause you just never know when somethin’ like this is gonna happen. And when it does, all you got left is memories. And a whole lotta heartache.
