Alright, so I’ve been seeing this Conor McGregor haircut everywhere, and I decided, “You know what? I’m gonna try that.” It looked pretty sharp, and I figured, why not give it a shot? My hair was getting a little long anyway.

First things first, I needed to figure out exactly what this style was. It’s basically a slicked-back undercut, right? So, I spent some time looking at pictures online, just to get a good feel for the length on the sides and top, how it’s styled, all that stuff.
Next, I had to decide – am I doing this myself, or am I going to a barber? I’ve cut my own hair before, with…mixed results. Let’s just say I’ve had a few “oops” moments. But, I was feeling brave (or maybe just cheap), so I decided to go for it.
The DIY Undercut Adventure
I grabbed my clippers, a comb, and some scissors. I started with the sides, using a pretty short guard on the clippers. I think it was like a number 2 or 3? I carefully went around the sides and back, trying to keep a nice, even line. It’s trickier than it looks, especially when you’re trying to see the back of your own head in the mirror!
- Clippers: Essential for getting that short, even length on the sides and back.
- Comb: Helped me section off the hair and keep things neat.
- Scissors: For trimming the top and blending things in.
- mirror: ver important!
Once the sides were done, I moved on to the top. I left it pretty long, just trimming a little bit off the ends with the scissors. The key here is to keep the top long enough so you can slick it back. I used the comb to part my hair on the side, trying to get that classic McGregor look.
Now, for the styling. I used some pomade – that’s the stuff that gives it that slick, shiny look. I warmed it up in my hands and then worked it through my hair, starting at the roots and going all the way to the ends. Then, I used the comb to slick it back and to the side, following the part I made earlier.
Honestly, it took a few tries to get the styling right. It’s not as easy as it looks! But after messing around with it for a bit, I finally got it to a point where I was pretty happy with it.
It turned out,pretty good.
